Buds dried too fast~

Aloha RIPer's~

I harvested last week and hung the buds to dry in 2 wardrobe boxes.
Tried to do everything correctly, (fdd's and Simon D's and ganjalover's (sp) tutorials) but my room stays @ 80-90 (day / lights on) when its over 105 outside so...

They dried in two days.
Still some bend to the stem but another day drying would have been too much.

RH inside jars is ok: Between 63-67%. but they feel dry.
They don't smell dank whatsoever.
If I smelled these I wouldn't get 'em.
(I'll leave em in there in the dark... )

Is there any hope at all at this point?

Made great (for me) ice-water-hash so, if I can just figure out now how to smoke bubble (besides on herb in my bong) :)
But I like to smoke fatties.

I am beyond bummed tho.
(next harvest in a few days so I dont want to repeat this fiasco) :wall:

lemme know if you need / want pics

sup hapa, seal them up with something moist for a day or two, orange peel, wet sponge etc, try not to let the buds touch the wet though. seal needs to be airtight. then cure them normally, the smell should come back.

your next crop though i'd think about a new drying place or or alternate a few hours in the room a few in a fridge or something. look up water curing, it'll shrink the dope but on the upside it'll be cured and stronger by weight ;)

that will moisten them but curring process is over

once dried process finished more moistuer only dampen can not start curing process upp again
sorry i dont like saying this

ther is sum would be saying wit a smile or a laugh

Don't sweat it you can rehydrate them in bottles where a lemon or orange peel is at the bottom. Glad your hash stash turned out great though :-).

Thanks for poppin in Don~ (and I thought I was gonna have to stalk you today!) :) ha ha

Hey that water cure might be the answer, huh?
I read up on that... anything that will slow the drying.

thank you!

I'll try that right now... I have lemons (and NOT just these sucky buds either!)

Thanks for the post, I appreciate it! :)

nekt time dry slow
and i have seen all fruits used does nuin for bud can even use water i hae taped a wet paper towel piece to inside of lid

but a long slow dry is better for uring process not a quick no fans right on it air circulating ok

if you hang dry take down when outside of buds crispy like 3 or 4 days

jar them open close leve open more then close lay on its dide

about three days slow drying in jar when reached how you want them can put away

now curred

You are so correct...
I didn't think the room was that bad really (best room in the whole house, lol).
Next time I can CLOSE the boxes, and reduce the (ceiling) fan esp. @ night.

Hey check this out, (please :))...

lemme take a few pics, brb

Just for the hell of it:

Lookin @ these here, I better not add anything moist. I mean if I am to "believe" in my 'instruments', right? (sry, JFK Jr. came to mind)

Anyway sry if some are repeats bc most were quick (= crappy :)) Just to give an idea.

I just took one of these buds and TRIED to grind it and smoke it... too wet (smooth as hell tho for weird tasting / smelling bud~ I have a lighter tho, lol).

I don't understand.:wall: they feel really really dry (not sticky at all, and NO DANK smell whatsoever).

Did I mention UGLY too, ffs.

thanks everyone~

*seriously? my "stoned-editing" was too short? ah ha

did you use a jar
cause when you hang outside gets crispy and dry
jar brings out the moisture if any still inside the bud
then you test feels wet -leave jar open if really wet pour out for 1/2 day till crispy outside then jar up and test agin over and over slow dry cure

I don't know. But, I have read that if you get under 50% RH before into the jars, not good. Whatever dankness I seem to have when fresh, however, does not survive the process of curing. Also, I have jarred to early and got mold smell, still faint, alas. So, I will probably make hash out of that batch. I don't know yet, how to come out of cure, with stinky dank. I get a light flowery smell, but that's the best so far. Cheers.

Let us know if you find any clues.

I have years of experience with this.

For me I like a fast cure to avoid any chance of mold.

I fine all the smell goes out and when you cure them in a jar it still has water in the stem.

The smell will come back!

Do not use water or lemons as it will mold.

You can use a corn tortilla if you want but use a small amount then open the jar the next day, dump them out for half an hour then back in the Jar.

Best advice I have had was these hydration packets called Boveada bovedainc.com

No relax, get on ebay and get some packets or just use corn tortilla. The smell will return in a while.

Nothing is better then a long cure time but you can take shortcuts!

Mine go on quick cure racks and then into 5 gallon buckets BONE DRY! Some times if you have beady stems thats tons of moisture.

but whutever you ues on

and when i jar i dont walk away from them checking in couple hours then open til cripy and over again

but there are hundreds of ways to do the same thing in this hobby not final like math
hundreds of diff strains
hundred of diff grow systems and medias
hundreds of diff styles
hundreds of diff reason to grow form meds to pay the rent
hundreds of diff nutes
all diff none wrong but those that dont work
if it works it is good for you

whuts good for one might not be good for another
you must experiment find whuts best for your setup
guy given advice might have a sealed room wit 4 1ooow lights gas tanks controllers
you might have cfls -

best way i found to dry is by not hanging plant to me that's a waste of time make your self or use a door screen trim buds

place on screen have fan blowing on them have room in darkness , with temps 60 - 65 and humidity 50 - 60 for slow dry process keep on screens for 48 hrs then place all buds in a garbage bag press air out of it and leave it for 6 - 8 hrs replace back on screens for 24 - 30 hrs then bag them your done

Aloha Dwezelitsame~
I took them down while the stem was still "bendy"... not crisp but not that wet. My RH Is @ 55-60% but who knows up in that box what it was. Kept waitin for them to get "wet" after leaving in jars but it never happened.

I think they're too dry for mold, but yes... maybe perfect for ice-hash :)

That's so crazy! But excellent! Using a screen door.
If only it were possible for me to create that environment here where I live.
I guess I'll have to wait for winter to get the room cool enough.

WOW! it seems so elemental now, huh? natural leaf might be more "natural" and forgiving, maybe right?
In my brain I sure liked the idea of adding something (anything) to make the smell better.
Bc it sucks right now.
I'll keep an eye on RH's in jars.
I have to Harvest AK's tomorrow or Friday.

Thanks so much for the posts! :)

So I just noticed...

My Sour Diesel has seeds now @ 1 wk. before chop.
Should I chop her down now before she loses potency?
Or wait until next week? its day 62 and its suppose to go for 70 days.
They came up today kinda fast, I'd say 10 or so..
