Buds Got To Heavy!!!!!

Ok i just witnessed the worst thing i have ever seen!!!! i woke up this morning and one of my plants had split stright down the middle of the center stemm almost all the way down the plant!!!! the buds on outside sems pulled the main stem in 2 it split it sriaght down middle from top down to of stem!!!!!! i still have 3 weaks on fead chart and 2 of leaching.... what should i do.. i have never had this happen.. i ziptied the stem back toether... do yyou think shell make it or should i just start trimming her and hang her now.... please help!!!

if u can tie up the end of the bud to keep the stem strait & bandeg her up u will be ok. happehd to me things went great after that

bandage up?????? how do i go about this????

pull them back together and tape it. maybe not tape from top to bottom but just get those two halves tightly back up against eachother so it can try and heal.

Zip straps might draw it tite then tape.

ok i have got some black electical tape it seams to be srongest and i wrapped zipt ties but no matter how tight i try to get it its still about 4 millemeteres spread at the top... hopefully she will be ok just keap a verry close eye on her know.... i do want to say THANK YOU for all the responses that came so quik!!!! very helpfull guys

if u cant tape it it will be ok. when it heels up it will have a big knot their. my cola bent over and splinterd mine and that bud ended up being fater and heaver then all my other plant. same size plants, and strans

Zip ties just to get you going then tape!lol

well that would be cool!!!! and yes i got some tape on there and tied up thos fat ass outside collas... no joke i was teing everything up yesterday and ran out of time (the lights went out) The only one i didnt tie up yet was this one... i knew somthing was gunna break though the collas were gettin HEAVY my guese around 2-3 ounces. Wet of course...like i said you guys are awsome i would have gone and done some dumb shit like clip her down!!!!!!! THANK YOU AGIN on the great advice

really!!!!! i was going to do it this way but i thought the hard ribbed plastic wouldnt be to good on already hurt stem so i put some tape on first to soften the contact beatwean stem and zip tie.... maybye i should try this i guesse i cant hurt her much more then she is....

I "think" duct tape breathes and know electrical tape doesn't, so this might be a consideration in allowing the wound to "scab" over? Personally, I'd splint it with something first. Those ties, IMO, are gonna cut into any pressure points, and possibly cause more injury.
Of course, I've never had buds so heavy that my plants self-destructed.

We can only wish we all had this problem!

yes this does make sence!!!! also... i was thinkin about one time tied down a plant and the strings got to tight on one of the stem i notice a seriuse slow in growth in that stem... i thought about it and i was accually suffacating that stem the strings were to tight no nutes or watter got up it.... should i worry about this with the tape and zip ties.... how lng should i leave it on??? like i said i have about 2-3 weaks on fead chart and then another 2 weaks at least of leaching before i want to cut her down..

a splint know that i did not think of...+rep man thats a GOOD idea this would keap me from woryying about choking her out

you're going to need stakes or strings to the ceiling to help support things. taping will repair it but you have to support it as well. along with anything else this may happen to.

yes like i said i was in precces yesterday doin a spiderweb... i put about 50 strings to cieling and ran out of time with the lights and couldnt tie this one up... ( will never do this again nixt time tamato cages!!!!!) but anyways i have done this today and thank you

Does anyone think this would happen with a scrog grow? I have a nice healthy girl spreading out through the scrog, yet I can imagine these buds getting pretty heavy on each stem. If it did happen I would definately use string or twine. It breathes and doesn't stress the plants. Dowel rods make great splints too. I don't think this will happen with the scrog though. Anyone else had it happen to them?

i doubt it you nead long side stems with big colas at end... the key is the longer the stem the easyer it is to break..It would be like hold a 50 lb wieght in your arms but bend your elbows and keap wieghts close to body.. very easy now extend your arms straight out and hole the wight.. very hard ... but dont get me wrong thought shit happens... i didnt think this would happen to me but it did

I have also heard of people coating the break with rooting gel before they wrap it...
