Hey everyone, I've been around the forums a bit lately and decided to start a grow journal. I won't promise any regularity in updates, but I'll do my best. bongsmilie
Here's the specs and I'll discuss it in a little more detail after...

Location: Indoors

Environment: Grow Tent (Hydrofarm Light House 4x4x7)

Method: Hydro from clone

System: 16 plant SOG, Ebb & Flow (Flood & Drain) on a 4x4 Botanicare Tray.

Medium: Optional ~ Gold Label hydrocorn, Gold Label 60/40 (hydrocorn/coco mix) or a combination of both bags at a ratio of 4 parts hydrocorn to 1 part coco.

Containers: 3 gallon Smart Pots

Reservoir(s): 54 gallon Rubbermaid Roughneck (I may add a second res for fresh water top-offs, Drain To Waste or simply as a second nutrient solution for multiple strains or staggered growth stages)

Water: Tap (I may go RO. I had a filter and returned it. Long story...)

PH/PPM/EC Meter: Blue Lab Guardian

Air Pump: General Hydroponics Dual Diaphragm

Water Pump: Xtreme Water 270 GPH Submersible

Nutes:
  • GH Floraduo (Grow & Bloom)
  • GH Floralicious Plus
  • General Organics CaMg+ (I kept this in case I get another RO filter or by the unlikely chance of a Ca or Mg deficiency. Also, I chose "GO" over "GH" CalMg because it contains nitrogen.)
  • GH Florakleen

Lights
: 800 watts total. One 400 HPS & one MH 400, both air-cooled with C.A.P. LumenAire 6 reflectors.

Ventilation:
  • Intake: Passive
  • Exhaust: 6" CanFan Max

Strain: Unknown. (Clones from unspecified bag seed. I'll upgrade genetics if this harvest goes well.)

I think that's just about everything in there so far. I'll upload a couple of pics and that should get you and idea of what I'm working with. It's taken me a couple months to put all of this together but I'm almost done now and I'm excited to get things going. I still need to connect my tubing and whatnot. I'm still deciding where to put the water inlet and outlet. (I'm thinking the center of the table?)

I'm waiting on a batch of 16 clones to fill in the table. The plants in the pics are tomato, pepper and melons seedlings waiting to go outside.

Feel Free To Post Any Questions, Comments, Advice or Constructive Criticism!

I haven't updated this in a few weeks, but nothing very picture-worthy has happened lately anyhow.
Until recently.

Pics in the next day or so.

UPDATE!

Sorry so long, not that I think anyone is following along just yet. But here's some new pics.

At least one of these lucky ladies (all bag-seed) will become a mother:

These pictures were actually taken before I made a few upgrades. I've calibrated by Bluelab Guardian. I cleaned out the flood tray and filled my reservoir. I may end up upgrading to a more durable plastic depending on how this tote bin holds out. Either way I need to get a 50 gallon res for fresh water top-offs to maintain EC.
I also went to HD and bought a hose-to-faucet adapter and a 50-foot garden hose so I could run the water upstairs instead of carrying it by the bucketful. That's been one of my favorite investments so far .

While I was rearranging everything I found that I had to turn my table in the opposite direction in order to allow the water pumps' power cord to reach the outlets at the top of the tent. I neglected to disconnect my drain-hose and I snapped the barb which the hose connects to underneath the table. I attempted to heavily bond it with silicone it but I'm extremely reluctant to leave that running without supervision, so that will need permanent fixing or replacing ASAP. Any suggestions would are appreciated since I'd rather not buy another flood & drain kit.

I forgot to show my intake method. I can if anyone would like to see it, but it's simple really. I just put a short length (about 2-3ft.) of ducting from the bottom porthole of my tent to the screen on my window right next to the tent. Negative pressure does the rest for now. Of course, this is temporary as it could allow countless contaminants and critters into my garden. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Comments, questions, advice?

Grow got totally restructured into a 1000 watt Perpetual Organic SOG Soil Grow.
Currently flowering out 16 Super Silver Haze plants.
Probably won't be updating this any more though. I'm too lazy.:joint:
