Building a clone/mom room

Hi, all...
So I am thinking about building a clone box (or making it a room) and putting it in a small closet. I have a few questions and didn't feel like asking in the Indoor forum since these questions are so basic. I realize that the temperature has to be warm and that Moms should be on 18/6 (or 20/4, depending on who you ask). I know that you don't have to keep clones in the clone room for long, just until they're virile. Also we have a grow room on the other side of the house, of course that'll be the flowering room if & when I do this thing.

The room is 3'x3', I figure this is relevant if I decide to go the whole room route. There is a very drafty door that'll have to be sealed off and windows to be blacked out if I go with the whole room idea and not the box. I can handle that stuff. We also have a heating pad. My questions are:

1) Do I need an exhaust fan?
2) I have seen pics of people using bulbs looking like the curly fluorescents you can get anywhere. Am I seeing correctly?
3) Roughly how many Moms (and/or clones) could I keep in there?
4) Do clones run on the same light cycle as moms?

Thanks for any/ all help, happy Tokesgiving everyone!

Yea you realy could do with a exaust fan,but you will not need one with has much power has in the flowering room. The reason for the exaust fan is to get the old air out of the room and you could realy do with one bringing in fresh air all though the ones that are used in a bathroom or kitchen will work fine.Pref one that a carbon filter can be added to at some stage because even though the mothers will not be in flower they will still smell but the filter is up to you.I am not a fan of cfl's all though they do work i would much rather use flouresent tubes try to get has many in the room has possible hanging on chains so they can be lowered when needed. These light's will be best kept on a 24 hour lighting sced because if not winters can be too cold during the 6 hours off.All depen's on the size of the room but i have a room about 3ft by 3ft by 5 ft and this gives me the room for 4 mums and space down the side for the clones.I have had more success with clone's on a 24 hour lighting scedule than 18/6 they just take that bit quicker 6/9 days where 18/6 they take up to 14 days plus they are more healthy clones love warmth and so do the mothers thats why i say do the 24/7.Just duplicate the flowering room but down size the lights and fans and exaust fans and all will be good.Make sure that all clones are took from a area that there is new growth below so these will become yr next set any questions post to me good luck tyke..........

We have a "door" cut in the vinyl covering on the doorway of the exising room. We enter & exit thru a zipper. I wonder if we could do a vinyl coviring on the door again, like the 1 we have now, and just put a bit of exhaust tubing in the top & bottom, just enough to poke through the vinyl. Bottom goes in, top goes out. A very passive system. It'd be venting back into my house, though, I'd need a filter. That's no big shit. I'd have a space heater in there and I might insulate it a bit. Think that would work? This closet opens into my bedroom so noise is a *slight* concern. The AC never bothers me in the summertime though. :D

I use t-5 HO flouro tubes (6500k) for my clone area and they work great. I have never tried cfls. I use a heat mat under the propagator and keep it 80-85F and that seems to produce better and quicker rooting. I keep them on 18/6 and that has worked well for me. I use a small oscillating fan once they are rooted and come out of the propagator until they are ready to go in the veg room..

yo tyke what size are your moms anyways why keep any moms to begin with unless you plan on makin a load of clones take clones last week or so in veg from plants take a few extra to make sure you will have sucsess is what i do

anyways Mel keep it simple split your room up so mother can get 18 / 6 all you will need is a shelf and florescents, check out sunblaster florescents might be the answer for both clones and your mother plant
you will need clone area on 24 hrs lighting all you will need is a couple of computor fans for air movement
on mother sounds like its a closet your fresh air can be your door opening and closeing mel if your plan is useing cfl's your not going to have to much heat issues i would think and correct me if im wrong but mother isnt going to refurbish as fast as if you were on T5 florescents its all bout your budget good luck either way

heres a pic of my clones that medium is SOIL day 8

Yeah I prefer dirt too. It's intimidating enough with just dirt, if we did aero or hydro or something I'd be worried sick.
