Watch out for light leaks from your lid.

The only reason I went with the vapour barrier is cost. Pond liner would have set me back about 200$ local prices. I used about a quarter of a roll of the barrier and the entire roll was 50 bucks.

Not too worried about it. Much more light proof than my previous set up. I use a light dose of peroxide every 4 or 5 days as a precaution. No issues yet, knock on wood.
