building grow box need help with lights

Hi everybody,

I am building a Grow Box... (Instructions and Pictures to follow) but I need help with the lighting.

I want to put both a 400W HPS and a 250W MH bulbs but I dont want to spend $500 on a Ballast.

I saw this on-line and I thought it was a Great Idea, this Dude has step-by-step instructions if ya'll interested.

That's a remote ballast. Looks like he may have wired his own fixtures.

If the room is small stick to 250 watt h.p.s the height is far easyer to manage.butif the room is made a little bigger you will get away with more intence lights.i have 3 seperate rooms plus one cloneing and mother room and 250 h.p.s suite my needs i never get less than 5 ounce of each plant,but it is a small space so i only grow 4 plants in each room all at 2 week interviels this gives me constant bud.straight out of the clone room into the 2 room for 2 week on veg then after that into room 3 on flower,room 3/4 are just flowering roomsbut at differant stages.

5oo dollars for a light fu@k me you could get a hydro tank cft unite lot for that in the uk the only thing in america that is cheep is it's burgers and they are not all that.

what you are looking at are called universal mogul sockets. they are about $15 with no cord or up to $30 with a lamp cord. you could also just use a regular mogul socket rated for up to 600w and wire it yourself and then you use screws to fasten it to brackets or wood, all those universal sockets offer are wire cages for splicing. use high temp wire caps.

check ebay for ballasts and lights. why not just get a 600w dual spectrum bulb?

This coming from a person that lives on an island that the German word for means "Bad Food."

Got any RELIABLE sources that say the only thing cheap in America is the burgers? Last I checked I could get a burrito triple the size of your ego that could feed a three person family for 7 bucks.

As you know Bud is practically legal here, we have 4G 1/8 (Usually 3.5G)for $30-50 depending, $250 For a Oz. Etc...

Clones for $15 candy Cookies and a whole Shmoresborge of Goodies for about $5-10

I guess you just have to shopt around...

I ended up getting a Conversion Ballast, Hood and 400W HPS bulb for $190 US.

I think I should be ok now, I am posting instructions on how I built my grow box (Stop By)
