Building New Growroom

I got the regulator for 100, the monitor for 300 and the tank for 100. They're both refurb, but the tank is new.

Not really a hydro store... kinda like an underground one I guess.

Today I went and picked up a light controller/timer. As it turned out, the double 20A breaker in my sub-panel was not enough to properly power it, so I switched it out for a double 30A breaker. I hardwired the timer in with 10/2 romex cable to the 30A breaker and it was ready to go!

I'm a little iffy on how to apply CO2 to my garden... Do I want to keep a certain PPM of CO2 constantly day and night? Or do I feed them CO2 at different times during the day like nutrients?

I know you don't need any extra co2 when lights are out. Also, I don't think you need any extra co2 untill the plants start budding heavily.

As for the application of the tank... I think you will have it run 2 or 3 times a lights on period. That part I'm a little iffy on as well.

I think it's like 1500-1600 ppm you are shooting for.

I"m sure there's a how to use co2 thread on here.... pretty common deal.

this sounds right from my readings.. set the controller to 1500-1800 and let it do the work... turn it off when the lights are off (have it on same timer)

So, some one pointed out that my A/C unit will be exhausting my CO2 out of my room and waisting it... I've been going over ideas on how to cool that exhaust air and send it back into the room so I don't waste the CO2. This is the only thing I've come up with :

Hydro Innovations Ice Box 6"

I was thinking maybe I could use my 1/4HP chiller to run one of those and cool down my A/C exhaust air before I send it back into the room.

Any thoughts?

My knowledge runs out when talking about a/c's... but I think I remember reading about dual hose a/c's or something like that. I guess they are for what you are talking about. They draw air from somewhere else keeping the co2 in (or something like that).

Good luck with that.

I ordered one today. My A/C uses air out of the room that the unit is in and exhausts it out a 6" hose. I'm going to use my 1/4HP chiller on one of those Hydro innovation chill boxes and vent the exhaust back into the room... we'll see how it goes. I already own the chiller and it's collecting dust, so worse case is this is a $150.00 mistake haha.

Merry Xmas guys!

Holy Crap!!! I hadn't watched the video yet... just lazy. MAN That is THE SHIT. You gotta let us know how those things work in reality.

I have a new dream for my growroom now. Now I just need to win the lottery, haha. :hump:

Well I dont see it being all that expensive vs. running A/C and what not. I love the whole idea though. So I ordered one 6" ice box yesterday and the plan is to hook that up with my 1/4HP chiller and run my A/C exhaust through the ice box and back into the room... Hopefully it cools it enough to be worth it, but like I said before at the worst its a $150.00 mistake :)

Just checking out your drawling, was wondering why your chilling the AC outake?? You could hook it up to your Outtake to your attic.

Then put your new icebox on your intake to your lights, then down the road get another one. Bam lights are icecold!!!

I think its just not putting your money to good use how you have the icebox setup other then that man, nice freaking setup !!!

The reason I am chilling the A/C exhaust is because I do not want to waste my CO2. I wan to maintain 1500ppm while the lights are on and I wont be able to do that if the A/C is venting it out into the attic.

he just spent a pretty penny on co2.. and he's trying not to dump it all outside by cooling it with a chiller he already has and returning it

the air for the lights isn't co2 air and has no need to return

From my understanding the outtake air from the ac is not the rooms air, its heat air built up from ac that it gets rid of so the ac does not over heat.

The air from the room gets sucked in through a filter through a icebox thing(radiator thing) that cools the air then pumps it back into the room through ac ducing inside. The rooms air is just circulated and cooled never goes out of the room. Took one apart to see how it worked after it died on me. But that was a portable AC and i know that all company's don't make them the same, just sharing the info that i have learned.

Hmm... I guess that is a valid point. I have an Everstar 13,000 btu portable a/c, model #MPN1-11CR-BB4

Not too sure on the inside specs of this thing
