Just remember hiding it outside with your dna/finger prints if its large amount isn't exactly a get out of jail card, they would have to make sure to burry it somewhere that will not be disturbed accidentally ect, i.e. not public property thats used often. Burying it outside in public is a security risk obviously, the lack of security increases risks of potential loss even if its not by law, but perhaps other people.

You would have to ask how discreet is the area really, and how safe is it to bury it all in one place. If you actually think its a large amount, I would't bother without gloves on the jars ect, just as precaution, especially if its someone wanting to stay out of jail (Already has fingerprints in the system). They wouldn't really do finger prints for a small amount I doubt, but a large amont yeah, I'd be concerned.

Personally no clue about the possible degradation of THC/mold/whatever other possible problems, I'll let someone else add their opinion there.

That's good its only small amount, but I don't know about property - I personally don't think I'd stash extra on someone elses stuff even if I lived there, I'd just donate it to someone who wanted it. Ofcourse finances permitting saving it might be worth the low risk to her, relative to the specific situation I guess. I don't think they would take their house or anything, but I wouldn't feel comfortable about being with older siblings to disapprove of it.

If its a small amount (4oz or so) I would say just get rid of it if it will take you up to a year to use it anyway. I just kept enough from my last harvest so it will make it through 2 next harvests so I wont need to worry about running completely out. If your "friend" wont need to touch the stash for up to a year, just "give" it to someone that will use it and then when the next harvest comes around do the same. It doesn't sound like they will have a problem running out.

If she's only smoking a couple grams now and then, there is no reason to take such an incredible risk. Besides, it's not going to stay fresh like you want it to for so long. Just get her some herb as needed, it's not going anywhere. Keep a half around, you'll be good on that.

The text I have highlighted I simply mist take issue with. Ex-fuckin-scuse you!!! but, some of us do indeed know exactly what the chances and jail, and fines, and getting the family dog shot (in its crate), up to and including the confiscation of children for Petes sake... Im starting a rant here, so Im just going to stop right there. As far as the weed itself goes, most you're going to get out of it, in a perfect situation is a couple years, and Im being optimistic.

If you can't find weed, just look to the following places, and you wont be without weed for long. Construction sites, Pizza Delivery, Oil Change Places, High School students, and of course, colleges. Or you can just strike up a conversation with different people. Be pro pot, open but quiet, and you will be surprised at how many smoke, and how easy it is to get it.

Or, go online and get some seeds, then start reading up here.

If a felony is your concern, move.

Wow, way to jump all over the OP. I don't blame him for responding to Althors rude comment, Prodigal I am sure this was not directed at you. Personally I think staying under the felony level is a good idea when possibly, that said I would dith it instead of trying to hide it under ground, particularly if you wouldn't need it for a year plus. You can safely store sealed weed in good conditions for a year, it will degrade, but I do not think anyone can accurately tell you at what rate.

Probably cuz very few if any ppl around here keep their weed for more than a few months. So I doubt most folks here know the answer you seek. I wouldn't bury it in the yard. Sounds like a bad idea to me. Under the house in the crawlspace sounds like a better place if you have one. More of a constant temperature there than in a sunbaked yard.

Don't get discouraged by the offhand remarks. There are plenty of good folks here too.
