Burnt Leaves. Too much nute? Not enough?

This morning I did my usual testing pH and ppm measurements and adjusted pH down (as I have had to do since day 1). No biggie. Most days I seem to bring it down from 6.3 or 6.4 to 5.4 or 5.5. I am 3 weeks into flower and things were coming along and actually growing too tall (which you guys helped me fix). The 1st 2 weeks of flowering were pretty great to my eye with very few issues.

This morning I woke up and some of the leaves had bad burns. It is not from the light since they are middle/upper leaves - not tops (also no problems on lower leaves). The tops still look good with little buds starting to appear.

Each morning when I check the ppm, it is higher than the night before so based on my research here I believe that they are drinking more than eating. Last night the ppm was 561 and this morning it was 605 which is a little higher than usual, but only by a little. When I reduced the pH to 5.5, I also reduced the ppm to 455. After reading the thread similar to this issue, I thought I might be doing more harm since it might be a nute deficiency vs. too much.

I am using hydro with about 10 gallons of water and have 3 females left on 3rd week of flower. I really need a little out of this crop since I am totally out. I feel like I am in the home stretch and dont want to mess it up.

Am I doing the right thing? Does it look like too much nute?

Picture 1 is of the "whole room" and 2 and 3 show the issue. The 4th shows the healthy part of my smallest one.

OK. I am a big time Newbie, and I really screwed up. I think I now know why this problem occurred. I thought my res water was getting a little to warm so I mixed some ice in some water to cool it down and did not let the ice fully melt. So, I am sure I have damaged some of the roots. One of the plants has no damage at all which makes sense since I am sure the ice couldnt get to it the root balls of the other two plants would block it from flowing there.

So, the plants are a bit worse today than yesterday, but there still seems to be growth and not huge damage.

I am hoping this problem will just go away with care. Is there something specific I can do to fix this or should I just do my normal maintenance and let it go away over time? I plan to replace the entire res on Monday so maybe that will help since I should be able to get rid of the dead/broken off root pieces at that time.

Now I am on day 3 of this issue and it is getting worse. Clearly I am not doing what it takes to fix this issue. The smallest plant is still OK, but the other 2 are in worse shape - more leaves have the problem - some curling up, some down, burnt tips. Some leaves have fine tips but the leaf center is all brown.

Please help. I really dont know what to do and I am afraid it will be too late soon.

I'm kinda new and into the 2nd week of flower and ppm is 1000 and I am going to increase it .... something to look into is are your plants getting enough food

WOW i have the exact same problem...i posted and got hardly any response so if anyone has any ideas HELP US OUT!

I thought it might be Mag deficiency so I disolved and put in 2 tsp of EPSOM salt. I let that go until today.

I also thought it might be root problem - as described in previous post - so I decided I better just change the res.

When I changed the res, there was lots of white fluffy root mas floating around in the old res. The bubblers were a little slimy, but did not have algae on them. The roots on the plants did not really look brown - they looked more white than brown, but maybe a purplish color that matches the res color.

Anyway, I cleaned everything out, changed the res and put everything back in.

I am curious if it is normal to have that kind of gunk in the res or if that is signs of a bigger issue. As you can see by the pics, the buds seem to be coming along nicely so maybe I have nothing to worry about. I did not take pictures of the old res since I did not really have the chance due to folks coming over ...

That looks like it might be mg deficient because the veins are being spared and the leaf margins are turning upward. I am having the same problem with mine. You should try a foliar spray with epsom salts and also water them with epsom salts dissolved in the res. It could take up to 6 days to see results. I am on the 4th day of treating mine and they are starting to get better.

GrowFAQ my friend, that looks more like a Def than a burn to me. the general blueish color of the interior of the leaf and all. I read last week that epsom salt feeding won't result in visual improvement for a week. Patience young padawon. Also..... oh, also, some deficiencies will only improve the uneffected leaves/new growth but the old/effected leaves will remain fcuked up.

maybe they need more nitrogen
