Burplap Bag idea

This morning, as I light the first smoke of the day, I had an idea.

If I filled a burlap sack with soil, tuned it on its side, and slit a x in one side, poke some holes in the bottom
could It sustain a full grow plant?

I think that the burlap soaks water and I know that the side laying it the dirt will stay moist

will this all work out well??

When I was younger we used to grow in burlap bags . On the branches of a few tree's we would rope the bag to the branch and cut s slit in the middle and the plant would grow from there and BLEND in we did it 3 yrs with 1 great success

dude I was thinking of doing exatly the same thing!

I might add that it was near a friends house and we would water it with a garden hose when it needed water and nutes ... It was the last time, that we did it that we got some buds ... Dried them on the roof of my shed .. man was it harsh .. ..Today me much smarter . me makem smooth token bud .. (In my best Tonto voice )

yeah i was thinking buckets in the tree or a shelf for the sacks

I would imagine roots would grow through the bottom of the sac?
Im just trying to find an alternative to digging a hole(s)
but I cant water buckets as Im scouting a spot thats a 5 mile uphill hike through brushlots swamps and forrest land

Last wknd i fell the tops off two big firs and put a spray painted 10 gallon pot on each water is still an issue but i think im gona have a water supply on a higher tree and have a line comin down to the pots with a timer on it. it sounds complicated but i really like climbin trees and its not suspicious lookin

Burlap bags will dry out really quick once the roots take up all the space , one 80-90 degree day with beating sun light will dry that bitch up.
However if you can dig up the ground underneath the bag the roots will most likely grow through the bag , you shouldnt have to make holes but that may help.

Does anyone know where you can buy actual burlap bags, all I'm finding around here is rolls of the material.

No need to cut and slits in the bottom. People grow in Burlap bags often and it works well.

My idea was to dig a shallow hole, maybe six inches deep, and puting the sac in the hole. After that maybe backfill the top of the bag with mulch??
Im pretty sure mulch helps with moisture and true the bag will act as a wick.

any soil suggestions??

I call it the "NativeWay". Been doing it like this for some time now..

Pro-Mix Potting soil and sheep manure.... good for the season!!
You could mulch But I never needed too, Roots grow right threw the bag/sac with ease. Utalizing the moisture in the soil under the bag/sac.
