Butane Hash oil " is it safe" read the story

Well ill make the story short. Basically i was drunk and i put gasoline on a fire that went out. the coals where still hot enough to set off the flame, and i basically set my self on fire, ran around for a second then jumped in my pool. ever since then explosive stuff has freaked me out.

I really want to make some BHO but in all honesty i am to scared. i just need some people with experience to give me advise how to do it. and what not to do.

Making it is dangerous as fuck. You can't use any open flames during the time your making it and probably 10-15minutes after all the butane completely evaporates outside.
Smoking it is as dangerous as smoking weed, your not gonna blow up smoking it. You'll be safe.

wow! cant believe all these people talking about it being so dangerous. all i gotta say is dont be an idiot, i make it all the time....simple safe method i use...... first get me a good boiling pot of water started, then put my mj in my extractor, i get my big glass cake pan, "AND" take it out side along with the smaller glass jar ill be useing to catch the honey, extract all the oil i can out if my mj in my small glass jar thats placed inside the big glass cake pan, go back inside get the boiling water and pour it in the cake pan...wah lah~~~~~~ never have had a problem, just dont be dumb, and dont do it drunk

what mad hatter said, but I do it outside. It's easy if your not drunk or not being stupid. It's a easy process, but your still risking your life.

as long as you do it outddors away from flames, sparks and electrical outlets, there is very little danger, do wear thick gloves though, it comes out cold enough to give cold burns.

Tips:


butane is heavier than air, and will collect on the ground.... without your knowledge, and ignite! so were heading OUTDOORS for our BHO !

Run your butane into your pan outdoors... away from sparks, flames... cigarettes/joints/bowls.. keep it outside... a breeze is always nice and helps carry the pooling butane away...

have some oven mits or something around to handle the cold things

be 100% prepared before you run your butane into the pan.... get everything you will need for the whole process laid out..


!!! when running a LOT of butane into a tube, be understanding about the PRESSURE that the butane can CREATE! If you start running your tube, and nothing comes out, and you keep running tane into the tube, pressure can build up and blow your tube (ONLY if its a piece of SHIT) or blow out your coffee filter and make you loose all your weed.... this happened to me quick way to loose $220.

Avoid pressure building up by letting off the can every like 5-10 seconds of running butane into the tube.... with nothing coming out the other end.... just let some pressure escape out the back end.... and remember to not pack it SO tight the next time

Yeah do it outside and you'll have no problems. Just don't have idiot friends like I do sparking cigarettes up right and left around you.

I swear I had to tell like 8 people to fuck off with their cigs on my very first batch. No explosions thank god. I would hate to see the oil I just ran burn.

also I'd go with a glass tube over the metal ones out there. I mean, I doubt it'll spark if you dropped it but it makes me feel a lot better.

what about those honeybee extractor kits? You just add weed inject the butane and out comes the hash onto a pan, let it evaporate and smoke.
