Okay guys just got some trim, smells like hay, not very pretty

Ran 100g through my tube, I used about 3 1/2 cans of Power 5x, I am using mean skreenz 160 micron..

The mixture in the pyrex started to develop a bunch of ice/slushie shit.. i was sitting there using a fork to pick it out, when i put it on a paper towel it turns into a white powder pretty quickly.

I am using the same equipment as some previously successful runs, just different trim, wtf is this ice in my bho mixture you guys...

thanks

could be lipids/wax? I seen someone scooping clumps of ice/shit outta the tray in a video once claimed it was winterizing so to speak

okay see the foggy stuff under the fork? and the icey stuff on top?

wtf man?? i would think a 160 micron screen would filter out all this stuff

In these parts, the ice usually comes from the atmospheric humidity touching the evaporation vessel at the evaporation line, where it forms ice and adds water to the mixture.

Using a deeper vessel and a warm water bath will address those two issues.

i am using a hot water bath, i will try to up the temp

i dont have a deeper vessel so i will just try to keep the tube closer to the pyrex/heat

thanks

A deeper vessel is key to floating out the humidity laden atmosphere with the butane, so that the temperature where it does touch the vessel, is above condensation and freezing temperatures.

We use stainless bain marie ware, but you can also use large Pyrex beakers.

lol... i spray into a pyrex not even warmed up.. once im done spraying ill put into the warm water bath.. havent had any issue with ice or anything.. but.. u will notice that the temps of the solution get low.. and then shit will start to fall out of solution.. that is wax and lipids.. u can winterize to get rid of that.. but i wouldnt worry about it while your doing the initial purge... u can tell what it is . if its water.. or ice.. it will be seperate from the oil later after ur purging is almost done.. if its wax an lipids.. wen it warms up. it will redissolve into the mixture.. and you wont have any water in you solution..

i just think its gettin cold.. an waxs n shit are fallin out of the solution . thats all.. thats why i run 2-3 pyrexs.. the first 1 i spray until i see the first sign of cloudy butane coming from my tube.. then into dish 2.. until its clear.. and then i let my tube sit.. and spray 2nd run into a 3rd dish.. i dont winterize dish 1.. ill winterize dish 2 and 3.. and use 2 and 3 for edibles unless 2 comes out great after winterized.. but lately. i dont bother.. i just use dish 2-3 for edibles.. so i dont bother winterizing anymore.. unless the yield is rediculous. then ill winterize it .. but usually i get the best quality material in the first dish . for smoking purposes lol.. going out today to grab a new bowl.. and a few new rigs ..
