Buying Online- safe?

Hey so I'm looking for some materials but I do not want to stop by a local hydro store....so I wanted to know where I can buy some materials online and if it is safe to buy multiple items together on one purchase and ship to my home.

I recently went to hydro store, and besides feeling ripped off, I felt like a huge target walking out of there.

I was about to ship A hygro-thermometer, ONA block, and mylar blankets via Amazon and then felt a little reluctant to package it all together.

Has anyone bundled all these together before? If so any problems using your personal card/home address?

Most of my stuff I ordered from ebay or amazon.

People do it everyday. I have probably made over 200 transactions between ebay and amazon over the years. Never once had a problem ever!

the items are not only used like you want to use them. They have legit uses and should be safe to purchase from a reputable online dealer.

Your fine many of us do it. Buying hydro equipment is legal.

Well since this seems to be harmless, how about ordering a grow tent? I'd love to have one!

Sorry about you feeling ripped from the hydro store. There are a few bastards out there making the good one look bad. The legitimate ones usually give a discount and they'll give you a catalog of their supplier so you can compare MSRP prices to what they charge. Amazon and ebay are awesome, but you can't beat a good local hydro store. Tell them that you'll be using them to build your growroom and they might give you a big discount on the whole purchase.

Hey Beansly...the main issue that I have with the hydro store is actually that I felt as though I was followed on my way home (and several items were expensive). I spotted an unmarked white van following me for a few miles on the expressway...and slowing down as I did and pulling behind me as I changed lanes twice

That's understandable then.
Have you looked a HTG supply? You get what you pay for but it's decent enough to get you through a few grows. And really, it's not THAT bad.

Everything I have from years of growing... 99% of it was bought online. In fact, I just ordered some new supplies yesterday and today. HTG is good, I buy from them whenever the price is right. They are the cheapest online dist. for Ocean Forest soil, grow bags, all kinds of stuff. Never bought a light from them, but I did buy a CoolTube. Anyways, the point is, your fine online.

Thanks gentleman this guy is alot calmer hearing all of this...I recall a sticky about which sites to shop at...I'll be doing some homework as in the past I was scared to order online and didn't properly look into it. If you happen to know of a small tent that is great for a noob I'm all ears (like 2'x2'x4')

I use a 3x3x5 foot tent, seems to work out great for a small time grow. I am low on space where I live, but my bathroom is huge, so I put it in there with its dedicated 20A receptacle and I used the old fan in the ceiling as my exhaust. I got mine off craigslist. I bought a lot of my stuff off craigslist, it's local, you can mix and match, and if it looks or sounds shady you just don't go to the meet, lol. This is all, of course, for someone paranoid like myself.

You could save a lot of money by buying a bit of black and white poly and some 3/4 inc pvc.

you need to stop smokin before you go to the grow store. Ive bought about 75 percent of my stuff online, never had a problem and ive gotten alot better deals. Really good deals at this website

www.HTGsupply.com is a great place for inexpensive high pressure sodium or metal halide lights. If you can find a place that has cheaper lights, I'd be surprised. Their grow bags seem over priced though. Just shop around for the best deal. Checkout ebay, amazon, and so forth. In general, I think it's safe to get all of your growing supplies online, this includes seeds. The only thing you should be paranoid about is growing without a carbon scrubber, but this is easy to remedy. Just build one or buy one online.
