Cabinet growing help

Hey everyone, guess what it's another noob! lets just hope I don't manage to get caught by the cops. Anyways I'm looking into growing but im very short on space and somewhat on cash. I was thinking about finding a metal storage cabinet around 75 inchs high, 30 across the front, and 25 along the side. when I start growing it will be organic, not hydroponic.

My current plans are:

- Buy a cabinet which is fairly large in size
- Buy a 400w hps lighting system (bulb, ballast, reflector)
- PC fans (approx 90 cfm)
- home made cool tube for bulb
- white widow seeds
- miracle grow fert (may not be a good idea)
- 2 buckets, i want to grow at least 2 plants
- possible ionizer (i have very little info on them)

I dont really have a clue how big and bushy the plants will get and it can be hard to judge by pictures. I was thinking of growing 2 plants side by side to save on space, but I don;t know how something like that would turn out.
Also, is a 400w bulb too hot for a space so small. I will be cooling the light, but i dont have any clue as to how hot the lights get. **Very important**-how can i affectively reduce or eliminate the smell of the plants? Ionizers sound good to me, but i dont know how affective they are. Are there better ballasts than others, are there ways to further minimize the power used by the lights? etc. etc. etc.

If this information has been posted before, which it probably has been, let me know and ill check it out.

Thanks in advance for your help, i want to get growing as soon as possible!
