Cal-Mag 12/12 Suggestions?

Hey everyone. I'm about a year into this canna adventure and throughout that time I've really struggled with crispy leaves towards the end of my 12/12 cycle. I'm under the impression that it probably has a lot to do with either ph or Cal-Mag. I'm currently feeling intimidated  by the Cal-Mag. I grow in a coco-perlite mix and use the Botanicare CalMagPlus (2-0-0) product. I actually use the Botanicare line for all my base nutrients. I'm curious if anyone could leave an idea of a week by week sense of when the plants need more of the Cal-Mag mixture versus when they usually need less. I'd follow the guidance of the Botanicare directions but...there's not a lot to pull from on there. I have been learning about the different nutrients pulled from different ph levels. If there's any tips you may have to offer on what ph is best for what week during the 12/12, that would be greatly appreciated as well. I'm also aware that there's a lot of science, measuring and even particular garden based information so it may be difficult to give blanket suggestions on Cal-Mag. I'm seeking out a bit more experienced perspectives to sort of give more roots to my direction. Thanks in advance for any time and energy you're willing to offer this humble little beginner.:peace:

Plants in coco need calmag from seedling to finish.

I don't use cal mag but I still have calcium in my feed. I use Magnesium suppliment.

For ur Cal/Mag question: Generally, Starting with 1 ml per G - bumping to 5ml per G when vegging and maintaining that level through

WIth Pure Blend Pro you definitely need calmag in Coco. Up to 5 ml/gal. Good luck!

Those are some BEAUTIFUL Trichomes!! Thanks for sharing that picture! I mean the leaves begin to turn yellow and even crisp up. I've been following the guidance of a fellow farmer and it's become time for me to branch off on my own. I only have a year of experience so I'm trying to figure it all out. Could the yellowing and crisping be from something other than Cal-Mag or ph? I'd give a picture but that crop is gone and I'm attempting to prepare for the next cycle.

Yellowing of leaves toward the end of flowering is normal and ok. Crispyness too..

se·nes·cence

the condition or process of deterioration with age.
  • loss of a cell's power of division and growth.

You know what...that's helpful. I was under the impression that it's less desirable for the crispness and yellowing to be visible. Thank you for this. It totally relaxes my mind about it.
