calibrate PH PEN

why is it so hard to find solution to calibrate a ph meter? Can some one tell me if i can calibrate using something for home and how?

I always use vinegar...The pH of vinegar depends upon how much acid is present, but most commercial distilled white vinegars contain 5% acetic acid and have a pH of about 2.4.

Distilled water is 7.0. But you should still get some calibration solution because it is also what you use for storage.

i checked some vinegar it reads 2.5 so i'm good. the problem i have is when i check soil, some times its high like 7.8ph and sometimes it low like 6.0 ph . i'm saying in the same day with out watering. am i checking the soil wrong?

what type of meter do you have, has it got a glass bulb at the bottom? If it has then you shouldnt be shoving it in the soil!

yes, you dont have a soil meter, it is a hydro meter! liquid only.
thanks, i would of never know that. i went out and got a $8 soil meter today its reads 6.8 in soil. say if my soil gos low like 6.0 ph can i just water with 7.0ph to bring it back to 6.5ph or will it go to 7.0ph?
