California Lightworks Solar Flare Grow

I'm stuck living in a crappy apartment for the next few months so I figured why not grow some weed. I grabbed a Solar Flare from Gtowershouse and a 3x3 Apollo tent from Amazon. I rolled through the local Home Depot and picked up some 3 gallon pots, fertilizer, and the dirt everybody says don't use and I was off.

I vegged for about 3 weeks or so and flipped them on Christmas Eve

I'm growing the following from seed:

Barney's Farm, Liberty Haze - I already regret this miserable motherfucker but more on that later.

Cali Connection, Head Band - No balls thus far and fighting to take over the tent.

Female Seeds - Lemon Kush - I thought this thing was a dud so I through the soil it was in back in the bag. Two weeks later I found it growing in the bottom of the bag. I said, "Fuck it," and through it in. It's substantially smaller then everything else.

DNA Tangilope - Seems to be leaning towards the sativa side of things, so she'll be awhile

G-13 Labs, Blue OG - It seems like the Og claims are bullshit, but all in all it's a hell of a plant.

I thought I'd throw up some pics as things got interesting. Thanks for taking a look!

Lol what about the Liberty?
I've grown lots of Barney's gear over the years and have even tried defending it on here, occasionally. I don't know if your aware but their reputation has been swirling the bowl with Green House Seeds for quite awhile.

It's just that the Liberty has lived up to all the bad shit you hear about them. The seeds were a bitch to germinate and all but one didn't make it. The one seed that did has been nothing but problems. It grows slow, doesn't like nutes, and has problems with deficiencies. It supposed to be a Chem 91 crossed with G-13 but is nothing like either strain. Have you ever had a plant perform so poorly, you'd kill it, if you had anything to put in its' place? For me, it's that plant.

I'll put some pics up of the mongrel when I get a chance. To be honest, I've never put a grow up here, and just wanted to gauge people's interest.

Here's a quick picture of the Cali Connection Headband. It's already stretched 3 times the original size. I've had to tie it down twice already.

It supposedly flowers in 8-9 weeks but there is no way in hell that's true for this one.

Here's a picture of the Tangilope. It has tripled in size as well but only tied down once thus far. This one claims a flowering time of 9 weeks. That doesn't seem terribly realistic, but we will see.

To any out there who may know, I was under the impression the stretch you see under hps lighting wasn't as pronounced under led's. I'm not sure where I read it though, so it could, and appears to be, total bullshit. Anybody know for sure?

That's nice to hear. Which model are you using? Do you use it all the way through or only for flower/veg?
I haven't vegged with it but I flower under the veg setting for the first 7 days so as to not get a bonsai then flower at a set height of 20 inches

Looks totally different from the headband I am growing. Mine is short and stocky with sativa influences.

You got a pic of the liberty haze?. I may have her ugly twin sister. Running her now. I only popped one of the five pack so far with no problem until the second week of veg. Then the deficiencys started on her then a week later the LSD also but not as bad. The other two la plata labs strains in the tent were fine. After a lot of cal-mag and dyna gro bloom she's been doing better, been in flower for one week.

my liberty haze has a mag def, but I wasn't blaming the plant...it's been good smoke every time I grew it
I remember when you grew her before she looked great. I think I have her straightened out now, new growth looks good, on the other hand the LSD is a beast, real tight nodes and doing good now. Looking forward to trying both.

Here she is.

Her latest problem is a magnesium issue. I'll blame my own ineptness for it though. I'm still not used to how different plants look under led's and since she's been one hassle after another, I've kept her stuffed back in the corner of the tent and haven't taken it out as often as I should.

Our plants look very similar. Mine turned very quickly and just wasn't expecting it. She was yellowing with brown spots all over and that's when I upped the cal-mag. Epsom sounds like a good idea with this strain. I still have four seeds left so I'll be ready next run.

I've been growing LSD for two years or more. Mine ends up a bush loaded with buds so heavy I need to support every branch, strong smoke too.

The flare plants I grow REQUIRE 2X the MG as my t5 garden with same strain. I do a TBSP of the Epsom every week till final flushing.

Are you using the Epsom as foliar feed or putting into water and then adding to soil?

I think that was just from weak lights, not because of the type.

Is this the solar flare or solar storm? The flare is only 160 actual watts and seems a little too small for a 3x3. I got the 440 (320 watts actual) in a 3x3. Nice girls though.
