If you live in an area where the weather is quickly turning cold(like it is here) and you are worried about loosing your girl to frigid temperatures then go to lowes and buy a large bag of organic mulch...when you mulch a marijuana plant like a tropical plant, the mulch acts as an insulator to keep those precious roots warm( keep your roots warm!!!)...on really cold nights, below 45 degrees wrap a bed sheet around the plant as well...do not put wrap your plant in plastic...just like animals plants need oxygen to survive and wrapping plants with plastic over a prolonged period of time can sufficate your plant, and if your plant has gotten wet, the plastic can cause your buds to begin to mold!!! In the past i've bought those hand warmers from walmart for less than a dollar, if you are really worried about those really cold nights put the warmers in with the mulch it ensures that the roots will stay warm all night.

we've had three frosts so far, first was light the second two dipped below 30F. Anyways, I covered them for the first two frosts and was going to cover for the third but I fell asleep WHOOPS :P Anyways, they are all fine, couldn't even tell they got hit. Frost attacks the ground first, so covering the roots is a good idea. Higher up things ( plant limbs ) take longer to get hit, good luck

I cover my girls whenever the forecast calls for consistant temps below 45 F. Consistant temps below 45 will surely induce shock...GOOD LUCK

dont mean to hijack but temps here are 60 during the days, 40 at night...that being said, they need atleast another week I think, except for 1.........
I will have to take pics but this thing has barely any leaves left... all yellowed and dropped. its produced I would guess 1.5 - 2 OZ of wet sticky bud but i mean is this thing still alive? lol I looked close and I saw bunches of new white hairs poking out so it must be still producing? Is that a good notifier, if you can see new white hairs then it's still growing? I figured I would just let it go for awhile longer but it looks cooked...not as vibrant green as the others, more purplish brown

constant temps, what about at night? That is usually what the dark brings around here, 45degrees on average this time of year.

My dad has been growing outdoors for nearly 40 years everything i'v learned has been passed down from him...don't let the hairs determin when to harvest...If you don't have one already i recomend going to radio shack and buying a 60-100x pocket microscope for around $12 without a scope it will be nearly impossible to gauge when your girl is ready to be pulled...Look in the microscope at the trichomes/crystals...they look like little mushrooms have formed on your buds and surrounding leaves...For a sativa shoot for the caps on the trichomes to appear clear to milky...for an Indica look for the trichomes to be milky to amber...this is the best way to gauge peak maturity for your babies

I have an oldschool 30x radioshack micro with a light on it. I checked the trics last week, they were mostly clear thats what has me fooled. I should check again, but all my ladies are badseeds so its hard to tell, since they are hybrids.
