really hard to tell without closeups but looks like a cal/mag defiency? closeups would help us be sure

Can you take a look at my maters? Give me a analysis of whats going on. I didn't have a time to feed last night so I'm going to feed tonight before the pots dry out to much. If I'm trying the make it rain technique, how much water should I use and nutes?

After I feed tonight when should I make it rain again?

On a side note: I can't believe my mites are gone, I check leaves everyday for new signs. All I used was Azatrol as under leaf foiler and as feed, then that Zero Tolerance stuff, both about 5 days ago (I also did a tepid water foiler rinse of the bottom of all infected leaves 2 days after I sprayed Azatrol and Z.T.). I think I'm going to spray malathion over the tops tonight just in case.

Ok is this the right thread to post this?
I say N and cal...and heat or low humidity...my 2 cents...

Temp is 77, humidity is 40%. If humidity is low how do you increase it without buying a humidifier? I have placed some buckets full of water in the room to increase humidity and I think its helping but not raising the humidity enough. I will have to get some close ups tonight today when the lights turn off.

I put a small bucket of water w/ a wooden skewer & put a sham-wow over the skewer, letting the sham-wow hang on the bucket causing a wick effect. It worked better than just the bucket but might not be enough. I put it in front of a low power fan, so the fan blows across the wet sham-wow

I cant find my camera hahaha so close ups will have to wait till I find it. I just officially flipped my babies and I cut some clones off the bottom branches for fun. I cut 70 clones and put them in a humidity dome, dont know if any will take but still fun trying. If make it rain doesnt fix my yellow leaves than its probably the cal/mag deficiency. I've been a rain maker for 6 days now. Is the first grow this exciting for everyone or just me?

riddleme, i had a couple questions about pro-tekt use for you, if you dont mind.

do you use pro-tekt with only water? if so any known issues? i am using foliage pro but dont plan to feed for a few more watering. i just got the pro-tekt and since i have CMH, and it is recommended to use the silica due to cell growth, i would like to start using this on next watering. what are your opinions on that?

i appreciate your advice riddleme. i have asked a few others, but they use other primary fertilizers, and i know (or at least thought you did) you use the dyna-gro foliage pro as well.

because this is my first time using the ProtK I have been experimenting with it (go figure that one) I have mixed it with nutes and I have had it be the only thing I add to water. I did get precipitates when I added it to water with epsom tea in it, but not when I mix it with Jack's and I kinda opened my mouth about doing the whole grow with just the new veg nutes to prove a point so have not been using the foilage pro and now I got a def to deal with but I'm pretty sure it is a ph thing as it is time to change my brita filter (which I am doing now) I just checked and the brita water is coming out 7.2 instead of the solid 6.8 I am used to :) IMO the ProtK does help with the rapid growth so I will keep using it but still getting dialed in, I am up to 1.5 teaspoons per gallon with it

Oh and I did a watering where I did not use it to see if anything changed and did not really notice anything significant

ok. i only mix quarts at a time cuz it would take me a while to use a gallon. i am using 5 drops = 1/4ml = less than 1/4 strength (i know a lot of work but it is easier for my small grow) so i will go ahead with straight water and the pro-tekt at this rate just to see if there is a difference. then i will feed after. i love the ph stability of the foliage-pro. i mixed a quart at the above strength and pH of 6-6.5ish. I used half of it. a week later the other half was still same pH. thanks again riddleme

Hey all total noob, well not even started yet. Wanted to ask how everyone felt on aeroponics. I just ordered my 1st batch of seeds due to the promos offered. I have spent 4 months looking for the right strain, needless to say i was inspired by a little lady named matilda. I have my aero system built and now just waiting seeds and nutes. I held off on buying a light because i was unsure what to get or what i needed. Any thoughts on 6 plant setup in a 6x6 space, (NL special) what kind of lights i would need.

thanks all
but a special thank you to the Riddle

Well you know I'm gonna say 400 watt CMH :)

Hi Riddleme,
I just wanted to thank you for all your research and diligent postings about your findings. As well as all the myth busting through all of your threads.

I had a question about the making it rain process, if you have a moment. Specifically, when you transplant. You mention dunking the plant until the bubbles stop and then moving her to the new pot. Are you ph adjusting this water before the dunking process? I am curious because I know you haven't ph adjusted your water as a rule, for reasons I agree with, but my water is around 8.0 out of the tap. So, she wouldn't really be able to start the ravenous feeding after she wicks all that water out because the water is so out of whack for the food in the soil... right? or have I confused my self again?

Thanks again, and thanks for taking the time.

your welcome as for the rain, there is a better explanation in my current grow journal balls to the wall around page 24 I think?
but you definately want to lower that 8 ph down to at least 6.8 for rain I go to 5.8 but 6.5 to 6.8 is ok if your not feedin and in good soil,,,8 is wacked and will cause issues,,,and ya don't have to dunk it you can just water it real good :)

This is a great article but I have one question. Earlier in the OP you talk about (and I"m parphrasing here) "If your in the veg stage you will have trees". Just curious as I"m going to be a new grower soon are you saying it will come out of the veg stage or just extremely healthy plants (ideally what I would want). Thanks in advance

Please help, I have been having so many problems! This is my 4th time trying to grow, but ish keeps happening. I have some seeds germinating and some of them had slightly cracked open after 24 hrs. I woke up this morning and it was frikkin cold... my seed were in a soft rag, in a jar of water under a light. Temps were fine yesterday, 75-85, but this morning I checked my thermometer and the min read at 65 degrees! Is a few hours that too cold for them to finish their magic? Oh man, I hope not, as these are the last of my seeds!

A few hours of that shouldn't hurt. Place them on top of the refrigerator, or another electric appliance that runs a lot, like cable box. They generate heat and keep the seedling warm.

Alright, thanks guy :) Haha when I woke this morning and felt it was so cold, I wrapped my jar in a blanket! Fingers crossed though... Hope I get it this time around. Last time sucked... had my seeds in a coffee filter, in a lil water and a zip baggie... put em under my laptop cuz it def runs warm... ended up CRUSHING my seeds!!

You'd probably been better to set them on the keyboard and close the lid partly, but the keys would have depressed keeping the seeds from crushing
