Calling LED gurus. What LED will be best for...

For the money the Quantum Boards seem to be the best route. I believe it would cost around $800 for 2 Kits/Drivers that will equal a 1000w Hortilux HPS-1600 PAR. I believe these are around 1500+To equal, or slightly better a SE HID -IE Hortilux HPS-1600 PAR you need 40.1w-Sq/Ft of the best of the best LED bulbs.

Gavita makes the 1700e,uses 645w at the wall, and puts out 1700 PAR, and has a HUGE SPECTRUM but is very expensive. It has way more Blue, Green, and Red than any LED Ive seen.

Gavita says this is a direct replacement for 1000w SE HID. So going by their guidelines they are using 40.1w Sq/ft. Not my specs, theirs, so I use that as my bottom line for any LED comparison.

Phillips is coming out with a new LED in Jan-2020 but wont be commercially available. They will put out 1800 PAR, and draw 635w

Gavita 1700e Spectrum

More information

Spectrum
Reliably sourced components including Philips Advance Drivers, Samsung white LEDs and Osram deep-red LEDs create improved performance. The Gavita 1700e gently drives LEDs to optimize fixture life and improve spectral output. The 8 passively cooled bars provide full-spectrum, broad-coverage light for full-term growth.
Uniformity
The 8-bar configuration allows you to mount this light source in low rooms, on vertical racks, over rolling benches or even in tents. For maximum uniformity, hang the fixture 24-36 inches from the crop.

Output and efficiency
Operating at 645 watts with an output of 1700 µmol s-1, this fixture achieves an impressive efficacy of 2.6 µmol s-1 per watt. Eight passively cooled LED bars provide intense light coverage with no fans or moving parts—significantly reducing the number of possible fail points compared to other fixtures.

Wet rating
IP66 wet rated and UL8800 compliant for use in wet environments which allows versatile placement in growing spaces. Its IP66 wet rating provides complete protection from dust, oil and water, allowing you to mount this light source in low rooms, on vertical racks, over rolling benches or even in tents.

I've been growing with LED's for years
I first got started with Chinese made and they worked fine. The worst thing that happened to me was I lost a fan and a couple of the individual LED's burnt out. I could get the fan working but was unable to get the bad lights to work. But I had less than a hundred bucks in each light they got me thru the first few grows. I then purchased a California light works LED a 220 solar flare.... I believe it was called. There was a definite difference in that light compared to the others and quite a bit more expensive but it was worth the money. I'm currently running the CLW's along with a platinum series light that I've got two grows with and it seems to be a good light as well but I do have several of the less expensive Chinese lights that I keep as back ups.
With the more expensive lights you pay for quality , customer service and Warranty. Fortunately I haven't had to call customer service about any problems on my more expensive lights ! Just remember you get what you pay for and sometimes you don't. I could have just been lucky with my cheap Chinese lights but I was willing to take that chance .
Hopefully you find this information helpful and not confusing

Very successful thus far with samsung f series strips. A little diy can save u hundreds, especially with a limited budget. Four double row strips, or 8 single, in 4ft lengths will have ur 4x4 rockin !!!

I got 2.5x2.5 grow space only, running on cheap lights for 30£ 100leds chinese, noticed light is not intense so need to lower it a lot for plant to like it, it wont be enough when flip 12/12 so did my research and decided to go on viparspectra v600 for my space, getting them next week, to be able to set it up before veg will finish, seen ebay new 150£.

Seen viparspectra does higher versions and ur budget will be around there for ur space, have a glance into them.

Best luck!

For that budget your going to want to go diy.
Question you need to ask yourself is, PPFD vs budget? What are you willing to sacrifice as as 2 x 4 x 4 is 32 sq/f
So best bet would be to do 1 tent first then another when you can afford it.
or sacrafice par/j a bit.
