Right now, I have a 32 qt mono tub of ecuadorians fruiting and another 10 jars of some golden teachers fruitin invitro.

Can't wait!! Lil tip tho bro, you should definitely source out some wide mouth 1/2 pints.. No lie the colonization time is two times faster and the cakes form better.

Dude these are wide mouth 8 oz. Jelly jars. I like them. I feel i have more surface for pinhead formation than the shorties. I have used a few of the short half pints but the jelly half pints i felt gave me larger flushes. Like i said i have many runs under my belt.

Sorry, I meant by wide mouth the shorter ones. No worries tho, was just a suggestion from what I've noticed. How much larger are your flushes per cake? I've only ever done bulk subs from my cakes, never fruited from a cake besides now.

If the flushes aren't over 20% larger, don't you think the faster colonization times would be worth it?

It's literally 2x faster to colonize and will almost never run into Contams if your procedure is correct with the fast colonization

I'm not certain how much larger honestly. In fact i have never weighed an individual cake flush. If the jar time is truelly cut in half i should give it a try. Maybe less time for contams to develop. Although im stumped about this run. Never had a contaminated jar before. It was bound to happen eventually i guess. I personally would love to start doing larger production..but i dont want to make it more complicated or expensive.

If you wanna get into growing more, learn about lc or g2g and bulk subs.
Honestly cakes are more complicated and a lot more time consuming, they are meant to learn on.

With that grey contam'd jars, you can separate them from the rest and see if the myc will fight back and overrun it.

If it does you could get a flush from it and not have to toss a whole cake, if any other colors show up tho toss it, purple, pink, green, etc.

3 of my jars that I dunked 2 days ago and rolled last night, actually had the same grey contam(I'm assuming) and the myc fought back and won, I can show some pics.

I am right on the same page as you with the grey contam. I separated the good from bad and i am waiting it out. Looks like the myc has spread into the grey and could possibly fight it.
I think i will take a healthy chunk of cake and spawn a grain jar or something along those lines. I do love these Cambodians and would like to keep them going. Already plan on taking a few prints for my library for sure. I have b+ and golden teacher prints put up for later use already.

Good idea for using those jars for cakes in a bulk method. The reason being. I would like to experiment with cake ingredients for well rounded nutrition.
I've only used infused corn thus far.

Sorry about the cobweb. It happens. That's nature. Another idea is to bury any of the cakes that you wont be fruiting outside away.from your place. As pong as they dont become rainbow colored of course. If they do. Gift them to an enemy.

I haven't gotten into lc or g2g so that is why I'm still using cakes. My bulk sub is just damons coir tek, pretty basic honestly. I don't think I've heard of people using the brf sub as a bulk?

I've crushed cakes into bulk coir before. But you have an idea about the jar type. And using an lc or the blender jar. It's just an agar isolate culture. Put into a modified mason jar that fits.on a blender. You blend it for fast colonization.

That sounds pretty interesting. I am definitely going bulk my next run for sure. I have cut up some cakes that were about dead and dug a shallow hole. I cut them up, dumped in a generous bit of vermilulite, and covered with a thin layer of soil. A week later i had a few massive golden teachers looking at me when i checked out my spot. They dropped spores to.
