Camera Infrared LED

I've seen other posts but can seem to find a concrete answer about the Infrared LED causing problems in veg / flowering. I'm installing a whole house setup (have 2 extra cams) and am thinking of putting 1 cam in each veg / flower room.

Worst case I'll put some electric tape over LED but wanted to hear from anyone who's using them now...

iuno if they do. but i wouldnt risk it. unless u know for a fact they dont do anything.. but honestly.. if ur security cameras arent going to be hardwired to a computer or dvr system thats not internet accessable then id maybe do it.. but cameras can be hacked if there hooked up to the internet in any way..

I use the Foscam models with IR, 2 full runs, no issues. I do tape over the LED indicators for power/WiFi but not the IR LED's and haven't seen any issues associated with them. They generate a little heat, other than that i don't think that (low) level of light would have any bearing on affecting the plants.

I have a Tenvis which is the same. Taped over everything besides lens :D

Required by state law in dispensary / opc. No issues as IR is outside the PAR range.
That's the first thing I thought when that dispensary got robbed video popped up.

My only concern with these cams are the ones on my house at night I can see red circle...

They are hardwired. DVR on network.

I'm not too worried about some hacker / thief accessing. First they need to get past a 38 character password to my network, then make a plan to get past the other motion detected cameras, then through a metal door to my grow without getting shot. If I'm not home I have work from home / retired neighbors on every side of my house.

Paranoid .....
Just remember....
If they are out to get you... then it's not paranoid....

I think all the camera installation's and obvious camera location would throw red flags to any "Mail" or delivery, or meter reader....

I'd not worry about being hacked....
And seriously.... LED 'on' light worry....really....

Whatever you are smoking is making you overly paranoid....

Get it? If no one cares what you are doing, and you fit right into a 'retired' neighborhood....
Why are you so paranoid?

I'm not paranoid. I'm legal. I was installing cameras for my property and had two to spare. Oh and you think I give a shit if mailman or meter guy knows I have cameras?

"I'd not worry about being hacked....

I think your sentence makes sense... it's not the LED "on" light I'm worried about, it's the ring of IR that caused concern. *FYI - My cameras run at 850nm so it's not visible to plants.

If I was overly paranoid I sure as hell wouldn't be posting on here with photos and all.

Go flame somewhere else.
