Are you using any sound muffling for a fan? Good quiet fans to start? Any ones that are better for that that will work well and be dependable? Best place to purchase a good one? And last question with a 8x12x7 area do I need a 6'' or an 8'' to put with a carbon filter? Thanks

It quiets it down quite a bit thats for sure. insulated ducting helps too. I would go big on the fan and filter. Its better to have to much than not have enough.

So how big on the fiter? I am going to go with a passive intake, hole in hollow floor, and other side of room put filter on floor with duct out bootome to vent. Good??

I would at least do 6" min 8x12x7 = 672 cf you need enough to exhust in 5 min so 672 div. 5 =134 cfm needed remember you will lose cfms with a filter so say a 6" vortex fan is 449 cfms even with filter you are in the clear go big not small!

I would put fan and filter above grow area because heat rises and that fan is used to exhaust heat humidity and stanks!

Ive just ordered the 6" Vortex 449cfm fan with a 20" filter the combo was 260.00 at thegardendepot.com its the cheapest i found and heard nothing but good things about it. That would be enough for your room! Good luck

Very cool! Thanks. Cant put on top. must not have a vent that is visable and any stealth must be from the bottom out. so yes best up high but I think it will pull from the bottom ok?? Have a totallly insulated almost air tight area... That vortex is it quiet? any better ones for sound??
