Ive been using 3 10 inch ipower carbon filters and im beginning to think that they are not doing the job as good as I need. I was wondering has anyone tried both these kinds and notice a difference between they two to warrant the price difference? the can filter weighs around 125 lbs the power maybe 50-60 lbs. Wondering if the can is that much better

It is,
have Can 50 plus a canfan 8 inch , 420 cfm rated, this is commerical quality stuff, full of carbon pelts that is why it is heavy, case is thick metal, highly recommend

Almost all cheap carbon filters (no matter which brand) come flawed from the factory. The problem comes from the connection ends not being compressed or sealed tightly, this causes the filters to have a small gap where the carbon is losely held on the ends, allowing unfiltered air to pass easily. I found that once the filter was properly connected/sealed, all air will pass thru the carbon and come out 99% scrubbed.
