Can I Add Lecithin To Already-Made Canna-Butter???

A week or two ago, I finished a slow, steady, 8-hour cooking of canna-butter from finely-ground herb that I de-carbed for 20 minutes at 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and the butter looks & smells REALLY rich & potent, but I realized AFTER it was prepared that lecithin is NOT an ingredient to be added to the recipe itself, but is rather an ingredient that is added during the preparation of the butter.

Would it be effective & wise to melt the butter again, and "cook" the lecithin into the butter on a low heat???

Can lecithin be added to already-made canna-butter? If so, then how???

Thanks for answering!

I am actually just coming up on 24 hours in my crock pot and was wondering something similar. I think that the lecithin (from what I understand) is to be added after the butter has been made. So I assume that the proper method would be to remelt the butter under a low flame and add the lecithin. I am also curious about the fact that all I could find locally were the granules not the powder or liquid. I am not going to take any chances, so I'll grind it into powder by hand if I need to. But does anyone have any insight??

i've heard quite a few arguments on this subject and no 1 states that lectin makes a drastic difference. i never used it myself, most that have, stopped because they see no difference. i think you would need to use quite a bit for it to work correctly.

Granules are NOT ok.. had to grind it by hand and still some didnt dissolve into the butter. i'de say about 65% what i used dissolved. The final product came out just fine as I simply threw the hot mess into my blondie batter for cooking and used it as is. Final result was STELLAR. But I will say this, next time I intend to seek out the liquid lecithin instead of powder or granules. I've heard it is much easier to use.

My second batch of butter is just about hardened, so I am heading to the local Vitamin Shoppe to pick up a bottle of "Liquid Lecithin". Should blend better with the butter than the granules did. I will post the results.

Liquid lecithin was extremely simple to use and worked out very well in the finished product. Dont think i'll ever buy granular or powder again.
