Can I add light under my SCROG

Hey guys really quick question. Can I place extra lighting such as cfl underneath my scrog, my plant is already 22 days in flower. I have already pruned everything below the screen. I am using a 250hps but was wondering if I add extra light under screen, or is that retarted. I want to give the lower buds more light. What should I do?
