Can I clone after flower?

Okay. I Planted a bunch of random seed i had and all of them were male except for 1. Shes alone in my flower room budding, about 2-3 weeks from harvest. She looks pretty good so i want to use her to propagate clones. I dont have alot of other options, besides grow more from seeds, and id rather not.

My question is, after she is done budding how should i take clones, or can i ?

I figured id top the plant, and trim off leaves/branches to make clones. Or should I just trim her up after harvest and put her back on 16hour cycle before i take cuttings?

so top the plant and re veg? she doesnt have any real branches now, just fan leaves and such coming off the main stem. (shes real small)

can i clone with the leaves i trim off the budsites? or do i need to have her branch out first.

Not sure why you want to top.... research revegging a bit. I haven;t done it yet, but I think you leave as many fan leaves as possible in place and throw the plant back into 24/0 or 18/6 whatever you use..... research it though.. I've ready the answer to your question somewhere. You have time

hey i took plenty of clones 2-3wks into flower. they started growing 1 leaf fan leaves but i believe it was from too high of a ph in the bubble cloner. After i corrected it i got clones with normal 5 leafs.

you need to reveg cut the buds off leave as many fan leaves as possible put back into veg light cycle 24/0 or 18/6 whatever. to make clones you need a branch with at least 3 or 4 nodes one or 2 trimmed under medium and a couple nodes with leaves above medium. my $.02

okay well i went ahead and topped the plant. ima trim the bottom budds of sometime at the end of the week and then put back on a 16hour light cycle.

i wasnt really worried about the bud i got from her, i just want her so i can take clones.

So from where i topped it, it will actually branch, instead of growing straight up again?

it was like 5 weeks. i cropped it way early, but like i said. im not really interested in the harvest of this plant, i just want her for a mother.

She flowered like, 3 weeks after she sprouted from seed lol. so the hole plant was maybe 9" tall. The bud looks good, so i def wanna clone this plant. I just need her to bush out, as she was a single cola with nothing but fan leaves coming off the main stem.

So it should branch out of where i cut the stem right? i left 3 nodes of fan leaves, is that too many?

much quicker to start from seed than to re-vegg.
plant a few vegg them then clone the fems before flowering.

Yea but how do i know if they are fems if i dont flower them? i have a hard time telling males/females apart to about 2weeks into flowering.

You really think its better/quicker to just plant a bunch of seeds and sort through the males/females, than to reveg a female i already have?

i was thinking 4-5 weeks for it to branch out enough to where i can take cuttings. or will it take longer from where i topped the plant and switched it back to 16/8

just wait untill the plant is mature enough in vegg to be showing preflowers
4-6 weeks then take cuttings.
many people dont think it's a good idea to force flower seedlings to determine sex but i did.
but yes its quicker to start again from seed.

I agree with ludacris. Reveggin from flowering, especially so far in, would take ages to start any new growth and because it'll be highly streseed, you'll need to wait ages before flowering again. In the end it's kinda cheaper to start from seeds. Also, the soil will be kinda exhausted... etcetc

It is fine to clone from flowering plant, I took my genes from a plant in week 7 of flower. At first the cuttings started growing out single leaf nodes, this is totally normal and has nothing to do with ph or anything else, but by the 4th or 5th set the plants looked totally normal again. I've had no problems with these plants at all once I flowered them. When they are vegging out they can look a little weird, but they work out fine.

Have you ever flowered the clones while they still have single leaf nodes? Mine are 3 weeks into 12/12, they made it to 3 leaf nodes but thats that. The one i let veg longer went from one leaf nodes to 5 leafs and looks completely normal. Definitely agree with you on everything, mine turned out fine coming from a plant in week 3 of flower.

so this sucks. she didnt have any viable branches to clone from, but i wanna keep her. so ima keep her alive and let her branch out in veg, but i guess i will start a bunch of seeds again to go along with it.

my biggest problem with getting things to grow from seeds is the transplant. i bought a pack of seedstarter plugs that can be put right into the dirt when ready. I think this will make the process go smoother.

I wish i could find someone i could just buy a damn mother plant off of. i have everything else setup to start up to 24 clones =(
