Can I clone from the flowering plant?

My plane is growing outdoor. Time to harvest, but can I clone from them? Or I should get seeds, and start again. Which way is better. Thanks.

take as many clones as you can since there so deep into flowering they will take longer to root so there a higher chance some will die

Bryanway if you are at harvest time it is doubtful that cutting will root - the cuttings must be pulpy and your branches will have turned woody by the third week of flower. Seeds or root clones (low percentage). There are some pictorials in Weed Science.

I've done it but it's been like a month now and the clones are still putting out single blade leaves. Wondering when it'll finally revert to normal vegetation.

Yea if you're more than halfway in, it's nearly impossible to root.

What you could do is look on the lower branches for possible cuttings that have more pliable stems. Even a 2 inch tall cutting will work.

I took 6 clones from my flowering Mary. 4 weren't doing good so i threw them, BUT i have two left. On one the leaves keep burning for some reason, On the other it has a little popcorn bud on it and its doing amazing. Not sure if it's rooted yet but it looks great. It's in half prelite half potting soil, Under a 1400 lumen output ecosmart bulb and I also used Bontone rooting powder. It's my first time cloning but so far its good.

You can, make sure you use lower branches and keep them warm and be patient. Take a few more extra than you hope to end up with in case some dont do so well. You might want to lst or scrog them as well, the plants are going to be bushy as fuck.

DONT TAKE CLONES !! RE-VEG the plant.. It takes the same ammount of time as a clone, but bigger, Unless your plant is in the ground.
harvest all of the top buds and leave some lower growth and re-veg,
But if you can't move the plant take a bunch of clones from the lower branches like everyone else has said.
the smaller the clones the less chance of them throwing roots if the plants are in flower.
So take atleast 6 inch clones if you can, for best chance of it rooting.

Peace and Happy Growing

One of the clones from my 8 foot behemoth. She's flowering but i thought I'd give it a try. Half perlite half potting soil under an Ecosmart full spectrum light.

put her in a dome if you havent yet and try to pick up a heat mat, keeping flowering clones warm and humid is important, more so than veg clones imo. dont put her right on the mat, put like a towel or something folded up between the mat and the clone.

This reminds me of "Monster Cropping"

There is a low success rate of cloning from a plant that has been going through a flowering cycle longer than 21 days, but it will be rewarding.

While trying to root the cutting you will essentially be re-vegging it. It could take as long as a month for the roots to come, which is why I would recommend a DWC cloner or better. Once the roots have grown, continue to veg. The veg cycle is roughly complete when the fan leaves are 5 deep(indica, 7-13 pure sativas).

Good luck.
