Can I cut off a branch?

I'm about 7 days from harvesting some bubblegum but I got some friends coming in town in a week and was considering cutting off one of the branches? should I just harvest the whole plant now or will it be ok to cut off a branch?

Please dont reply with just wait 7 more days. Thats not an option for me. Its either the whole plant now or just a branch now.

well obviously wait if the trichs say so for the whole plant, but instead of cutting a whole branch, try just the top buds on some branches from the middle of the plant.

sometimes the whole plant is not ready at the same time therefore neccessitating this procedure

I can cut off one of the tops as well...so cut off the top and leave the rest of it? will this affect the rest of my plant? I dont want it to die on me 7 days away from harvest. almost all trichs are cloudy, im at day 56 with serious seeds bubblegum.

It is not going to be as good, as if you DRIED it naturally, and cured it 30 days.

Well it is possible to cut off a branch. but if you are looking just to get some bud just snip off some bud here and there and that has a less chance of harming the plant and putting it into shock. If you cut off the branch the plant probably will go into shock, stunting the growth for 2 weeks, so it woodnt even be worth growing for another week, then it would be better to harvest the whole plant instead. so you got 2 choices, snip off some bud or harvest the whole plant. hope that helps. :weed:

stonerman said it right, + REP, just snip off a bud or two, from the same branch, without taking the branch.

stonerman got it wrong about shock. have yet to see shock from harvesting upper part of plant and than the lower weeks later. if anything, it is the exact opposite. usually see a very big explosion of growth in all lower buds and branches. just cant hack the main cola. been doing this for years.

If it were me and I was going to harvest some of my plant early I would first check the trichs to see if there were any near the top of the plant or plants where the trichs has at least begun to turn milky white and then take only as much as would be needed for my guests and myself and leave the rest to fully mature.

I would try to take something from as high up on the plant or plants as possible without taking any of the cola(s), I would want to leave them to fully mature and would take something right under them instead.

Additional: I would only take buds and not branches. Possibly an end of a branch or two if it/they had good buds on the end but not whole branches especially if they were large branches.

u can do it in a week. you will sacrifice some taste and potency but should make up for it if you pick the most ripe buds. denug as son as you clip and maicure and put into a shallow cardboard box with a fan blowing away from the box-remvoing excess moisture. yuo dont have alot of time and you want to remove as much moisture as possible. do this for 4 days and than jar for couple hours, repeat, jar couple hours, repeat. last day leave em in jar overnight and let air out the next day. will be very viable smoke that was not dried too quickly. do it all the time. you can use a vaporizer on a bud right off the plant as well.
