no it has to be a branch or of the actual main stem

I tried it my first attempt at a clone, and no, it didnt work at all haha. you have to have at least 3 nodes id say, and cut off the bottom pair. You have to snip it off, and dip it in rooting hormone, and place it in a saked peat pellet, rockwool cube, etc. in about a week youll start seeing growth. make sure it has water, and the air around it is humid.

I dont think you're asking your question right. At 1 foot u should have plenty of growth
