Alright, this may be an ignorant question lol. But can you only open tent during light cycle? Ive read something about a green light?? Im not to that stage yet but just curious, still seedlings atm. The seedlings look really good but they seem to be growing more up than out, have them under a T5. Any advice welcome. Thnx:)

Yeah during the veg cycle you can enter the tent at any time, but during flower you should avoid ANY light leaks for the 12 hours. Yes, green spectrum lights are safe to turn on during flower as the plants don't use that spectrum.

it should be avoided at all costs but it really doesnt hurt to go in there and quickly close the door behind you if you only do that like once a month but that is still dangerous, any light stress is bad really.

i agree with purple hazing--im not sure what it will do if your plants are exposed to light during flowering but even the smallest amount of light will effect it when its sleeping

Thanks guys! Thats what I was afraid. Prob lights on during night so its gonna b hard to stay outta there during the day lol.;)

If I need to check on my ladies during non-lighting hours even my veg I always use a green light (you can actual affect your veg plants if your not on a 24hr light cycle, but it is nowhere near as bad as letting light hit your flowering plants).

I was considering getting a greenlight myself, but i decided not to because i would not like risking it. What's the point of checking it when its dark when you could just check it when the lights are on, and actually get a better idea of how they are doing? Every time you open the closet you are risking it when its dark...

That is very true. And my husbands so OCD he probably wont even allow it to be unzipped during lights off anyways lol

I'm a little OCD myself, but EVERY once in awhile an emergency pops up and you need to enter the garden. A second reason would be harvesting under a greenlight so as to not pull any nutes, sugars, etc from the root system into your soon to be chopped buds. I'm harvesting almost monthly now, and it helps. A good size grow is a lot of work and my lights are always on at night for heat issues.

Yea I def am going to get one, even if only for emergency purposes like u say budlover. Thanks for the info. As for my seedlings, they seem to be very small i think we r on day 6. They look very healthy tho. Should they be under more than the one T5?

How many seedlings and how many watts momma? Seedlings don't take much light, but vegging you might want to add a light or two.

Well, I think you will want to invest in more light but that will precipitate better ventilation and higher power bills. The power is do-able, excessive heat isn't.

i open my door to flower room and some stray light gets in there. Never an issue and never direct light.

Yeah, I'm wondering if it's really true that ANY tiny bit of light getting into the area indirectly
will actually hermie the flowering plants or not? I doubt-it. Otherwise the Moon would hermie all plants!
