Can i speed up the process?

Hi guys,

Im currently at university in England and i am looking to grow some marijuana indoors in the next couple of weeks. I have found out i have around 2-3 months off, tops to grow it, and then i will be back at uni and wont be able to continue the process.

However, ive found out it will take around 4 months to grow. Is there any way to speed up the process and still get decent results. Do any places sell instead of seeds, sell plants around a month into their cycle, which i can then continue at home?

Any help would be awesome,

James

You could buy clones and put them right into 12/12 flowering period.

Still depends on many things, there is strains that can go from seed to harvest much
quicker than others.

Why not just wait till you have time to grow?

Could you go into a little more detail about these hydro seeds. Are they well known for growing quickly? How long would it take to grow? Do they still give a good end result?

You can buy clones in England? Would that make the process a lot quicker?

Unfortunatly i will never have any more time than that, as it would be done in my summer holidays at home, and i live at university in a flat with 5 others, who would be against me growing in our rental (also not a smart idea anyway).

cheek out lowryder 2 - perfect for your situation. An auto flowering variety crossed with ruderalis that cuts out the vegging period 9 weeks from seed

I don't think he was referring to Hydro seeds, rather saying a hydroponic grow
would be faster.

Buying clones in England im sure is possible, weather legal or being able to
find them i have no clue as i don't live there.

As david6767 mentioned you may want to look into an auto flowering strain
such as lowryder, there are others to chose from of course.

Have you thought about what type of lighting etc you will be using?

Growing the hydro way. Use water instead of soil. Check out indoor growing forums. Hydro grows much faster. There are many strains you can find on Nirvana-shop.com or AMS seeds and a few others that will grow low and fast. I'm using Auroa Indica and Papaya. THC content usually 15-20%.

After 4 days of growth, I have leaves already. =)

Thanks for the help guys. Ill head over to the indoor section to learn about hydroponic growth. I dont know about lighting at the moment, i decided that i was going to grow some today and have been reading up on it since. I dont mind spending a bit of money on decent lights though.

Basically my weed smoking friend is coming back to England, and i want to have my weed grown by the time he arrives so we can have a big smoke up. When i break up from university i have about a 2 month window to start from scratch to smoke. Ill buy what ever i need to do that, and give it as much love that a seed can take :)

Is a THC content of 15-20% good, ive had northen lights before in amsterdam, how would that compare?

Awesome, i cant wait to get started. Ill continue reading up, but am i correct in saying thay by using hydroponic growth and a seed with a reputation of growing quickly, i can get from scratch to smoke in 2 months?

the best way to speed up the process is to slow down your expectation....it will require time and patience. Good luck....

Patience i have, time unfortunatly i dont. I definatly want to try and get into this properly, but im wondering if it is a bad idea to try and do it in 2 months, as that is the only (and the biggest) window of time i will have for doing it for a while.

If its possible i will go ahead and give it a shot, if it isnt, i wont, as i will have to travel back to uni and wont be able to work on them (my uni is very far from my home).

most strains take atleast 7 8 weeks in flower and youll want to veg for atleast 2 1/2-3 wks. so your looking a little over 2 months seed to finish. thats what i think anyway. then youve got to dry and cure them, which takes atleast a good couple weeks. so if your planning on smokin your buddy out right when you get back..not lookin so good

I use the Aerogarden, which is fast and kinda dummy proof. You can also make something that would work kind of the same, but again, I like dummy proof.

Home Of The AeroGarden From AeroGrow International :: 1-800-GROW-NOW

Get the Pro100 (pro200 is better but not available yet). It has light cycles built in and a pump for the water. It even has the 12/12 flower cycle. Add a fish air bubbler with a couple of air stones, or one...water, just need the extra oomph. Make sure you get good neuts (fox farm or general hydroponics seem to work the best)

Good Luck!!!!

PS I'm using shorter plants because the pro100 only goes to 21". You will have to add more light during flower. My plants are growing like weeds.....LOL

You should beable to veg for 3-4 weeks and then flower.

there is a way to do this that might help you...it terms of how you think about it I mean. I do this with other stuff in my life. You pick the date that you are targeting....say....its approximately 2 months from now...so...ok...that would make it approx. Feb 1 right? so then start moving backwards with all the various periods of time that you need to accomplish the various tasks...from drying and curing (1-2 weeks) flowering (6-7 weeks or more) and vegeing (maybe as little as three weeks). As SJS said...it is in many ways strain dependent. and then it comes down to compromises for how much development you allow for and having to compromise yeild and quality.....

I guesss what I am saying is that you can actually shorten it up...but if you do you are knowingly placing limitations on the success/quality/yeild of your outcome.

Good luck!!

you could probly do it but you need to be ready to roll on day 1. no exceptions. you need to have everything set up on day one. Tahoe has some good ideas by shortening up each phase. just find a really fast strain, and grow hydroponically. if possible get a clone, that will save u like 1-2 weeks. u could flower ur plant when its 12 inches tall and still come out with 2-3 foot tall plants. i see your main concern being drying a curing, cause u will be back at school when that time comes. it takes no shorter than 2 months to grow. thats fucking growing really fast too. 3-4 months ideal. also check out lowryder. its done from seed to harvest in 9 weeks. your doin a good job by learning, just keep reading and u will be able to do it. Oh yes, dont love your plant to much, god knows ive loved plants to death. thats probly the #1 mistake by noobs. is loving your plant to death.

Ok, thank you for all the help. I might be able to start the process a week or two before, but that is a bit of a push, i can definatly get all the equipment ready to go before the date though. Really looking forward to it, just need to read up a little more, and try to source a clone / fast strand.

i would suggest an autoflowering strain... or a strain with a very short flower cycle 50-60 days.. then put the plant right into flower after it gets alittle growth this will take around 60 days... plus dryin and curing..plus germ ... so thats more then 2 months.. but less then 3.... if you want minimal time... then pick out a lowryder or autoflowering strain.... it should finish in 60 days.. about 2 months then pick it and water cure it if your in a real hurry...that would be exactly 2 months.. if not alittle more

also i understand that growing hydroponicly will speed up the proccess a bit... its also easier to fuck up thou

You can speed the process up really pretty goo to about 7-8 weeks from start to finish if your willing to do it correctly.Grow aeroponically.Use a clone and use co2.Get a rooted clone, veg for 7-10 days then go 6 weeks in 12/12 under hps lights with co2 injections

The clone idea that is been suggested is a very good one. I was not set up for this when I started, though I am now. that can trim significant "start-up" time.

I choose the Top44 strain because I was the perfect picture of impatient. I want my bud now....hahahahahaha....well the reality is it still takes a shitload of time, and being impatient sucks, at least I'm not a fan....I have one Top44 growing right now. I have veged it for 20 days, and it have been in flower only one day. I attached a photo from yesterday. from those that have had more experience than me, I am left to believe that this plant could turn into a rather large one by the end of flowering....some have said double, other triple....the size (its currently 8" tall and 20" across - its in a 5 gal pot). Top44 may not necessarily produce some of the "exotic" bud that you see on here, but I am hoping it will be decent. In some ways, I don't really care, anything that I have grown and cured properly will be decent.....how can it be anything else, I grew it, and with that comes a great sense of accomplishment. and after a year without a puff....I coyuld prolly get high off of second hand smoke!

BTW - the 44 means that is only requires 44 days to finish in flowering, after germinating, sprouting and vegeing. BigBud is another one that I have started - I have three of those that are also doing well - though certainly less advanced that the Top44. These are some of the more "commercial" strains, genetically designed to produce big yeilds in short periods of time. the true Connoisseur , of which I hope to graduate to one day may think these are cash crop wonders...and maybe they even are, but for us noobs, its an opportunity to take something simple and proven and hone our skills. but the Connoisseur is something that has anm apeal once you start learning about Hazes, Cheeses, and other varietals that have some very cool names like Blue Moonshine, Roadtrip, Raft, Warlock Trainwreck, Alaskan Thunderfuck, Wille Nelson, Black Jack etc. and for obvious reasons....I have to try SEX from THC Laboratories! hahahahahaha.

Another thought is that the drying curing might be an option...their are quick dry and cure methods. I am totally not familiar with them so you'll have to search them out. Again any so called short cut there, generally has a negative influence over final quality. In the case of curing, most people seem to put them into sealable glass jars.....well, I'm thinking that is something you might be able to take with you? and therefore that is not time getting to where ur going.

As a total aside, and I completely realize and acknowledge that school is not for everyone, but kudos on you chasing your interests. There are those that do not like or want the life/things that an education brings, but if you do like/want that and you follow through by pursuing your passion, you will be handsomely rewarded.
