Can i use a 400w mh in a cooltube

i placed a 400w osram bulb in a cooltube about 10 days ago and today it didnt come on,when i got it out its broken inside and black how is this possible its new

poor manufacturing of the conductors, maybe you got the wrong bulb for your ballast, theres several types of 400w ballasts, youll notice they take a light with a number like s51 or h49 etc verify your bal;last and bulb. did you have air going through the cooltube or heat was building up in it?

i had air going through the cooltube,whats the important specification i should know about my ballast when im going to get a bulb

It should say somewhere on your ballast, i have a pdf somewhere with every type in it, or at least a few hundred listed along with suggested bulbs, let me look for that.

gah forum only allows pdfs up to 19kb and mine is 100kb, seriosly is there such thing as a pdf as 19kb? let me figure another way of linking this.
