I am a first time grower. So-Cal near SantaBarbra. I have a place where im growing in the back of my yard but sun only hits it about 7hrs a day. My plant is flowering/budding now and I want it to continue. I want to know if I can supplement the sun and use a growing light( mostlikely a 400w HPS ) for the other 4hrs? Im tired of moving it by hand and chasing the sunlight. Does it need DIRECT sun all day? Ive never seen it posted anywhere so im sure its a question people want to know! Thanks Best Buds!:hump:

Yes you can totally do this!

You should look up a grower called treemansbuds. You will learn much. The guy is one of the premiere dudes on making outdoor monsters.

Peace,

You dont need full sunlight, but it pays off A LOT if you can get that.
If you arent getting full sun your HPS would be a great substitute for supplying a bit of extra light to give it a kick.

We have a great area to grow im from Ventura.

Are you growing on the south side of your property? Five to six hours of direct sunlight and a few hours of indirect shaded light should be fine. You probably don't need the extra light.
