Can I veg WIth 150HPS?

so I am trying to figure out my veg room and have come across a cheap 150w HPS
online. I was wondering if I could use this for my veg room? the plants will get M/H light in the next stage for a couple of weeks. thanks for any help.

Absolutely, hps can give you a much better output than the flouros and that sizr=e should not create too much heat. Watch how close you have the lights as small clones can get burned easily. Start with the light about 18" - 24" away and adjust from there.

If I veg with a 150w HPS will my plants look or grow different vs a Metal Halide in the veg room? I am using a 600w and a 400w both HPS in the flowering room. i'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to set up the veg room. CFL? HPS? MH? what should I use? thanks for any help.

to be honest i thought, o i would veg with a HPS because my plant would have so much more light thus they grow bigger, faster and stronger. even when i moved the light away it was still a bit much, so i went to walmart and bought a 4 foot 2 bulb T8 for 10 bucks and a 2 pack of 6500k bulbs for another 10 bucks. After using this the plants are growing way faster because they seem like a lot less stressed from intense light. I would reccomend doing this untill they are about 4 inchs tall then throw that HPS on.

although i used a 250 watt HPS not 150 watt.
