ask them to:

Please stop the corporations from sending all of our jobs off-shore
Please stop the tax incentives that companies get for hiring employees off-shore
Please stop their ability to fire people here and hire replacements off-shore and then hide the revenue for that position

AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, Please FORCE CORPORATIONS TO PAY A COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT FOR JOBS THEY SHIP OVER-SEAS, TO UNCLE SAM, THE WORLD BANK, OR WHOEVER THE FUCK, JUST TO FORCE THEM TO BE BETTER GLOBAL CITIZENS (stop them from playing global hopscotch for cheap disp labor) AND SLOW THE GUTTING OF AMERICAN JOBS

This is not protectionist, it's just being a responsible world citizen.

(this means if they want to hire someone in India, in an area where the cost of living is $500 a month, and the job is on Wall Street where the people working them now have student loans and mortgages, the difference in their cost of living woiuld be owed to Uncle Sam or whoever, but owed...and paid)

This doesn't stop them from hiring the best and the brightest, just levels the playing field, otherwise what will stop this cycle from going on until the cost of living is the same and the Povery levels rise too high?

Just because we setup this thing called free-trade, and capitalism, doesn't mean we have to stand by and let them ship away every fucking job that can be done at a computer terminal just because they found a new cheaper disposable labor force...they may make money for some people, BUT THEY SHIFT RESOURCES WITHOUT REGARD FOR LIVES EFFECTED, AND they're perfectly willing to take advantage of every opportunity to skin a buck, and we have to force them to be more responsible citizens.

What's more important, Corporation's right to make a buck, or the future of society as we know it?

We should STOP Corporations Rights As Citizens, or make them be better citizens. Their job as we have defined it is to extract cash from the system as quickly as possible without regard for the consequences. Repeal their powers before they gut our society - the rules need to be changed.

If the corporations are to incur more expenses, you can be as sure as the sun will rise that their services/products prices will reflect this. It has nothing to do with the corporations and all to do with the shareholders demanding performance.

Hello. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't agree with much of your post or at least the methods you would choose.
We should stop empowering evil in which ever form it occurs, there are many ways to do this, force being a poor substitute for reason.

If you don't like a particular corporation, why are you asking the biggest corporation there is to help you reach your goal? If you don't own something why do you think it is right to force a company to do something? If you believe force, rather than morality and self interest is the way to solve things won't that "solution" simply perpetuate bad things?

unless we write to our congressmen nothing will change.

We have seen how the Federal Government acts when it's put in charge of something, they won't let it go unless the People rise up and say stop.

Corporations have grown so large that the Governments have taken a back seat, and that is the wrong direction for our planet to take.

Globalization may be inevitable, but un-managed it will cause more damage than good.

Corporations make no bones about NOT being a democracy, they aren't and never will be, so where do you want to live?

We make the laws (or let other make them for us), and they should determine our course, not the corporations, who's job is clear, "make money for the shareholders no matter what, and as quickly as possible." They do no create wealth, they extract it from the system, benefiting only 1% of the population, costing the rest of us.

example:
How many of you bought HP color printers? (I did - several)
how many of you earned bank off of their stock? (I didn't, I worked in Shipping and Receiving)

Yeah I am with free trade on this one. Sure it sucks for the people we have that get replaced with someone in india, but it is far better for the people who gret jobs in their countries. And as their economies increase and they are able to trade more we benefit from their goods as well as them benefittting frmo our goods.

Add to that usually the money we save by moving is more than enough to pay the person who lost their job to get new skills and education, its really in the end win win. As long as the people that lost their jobs use the time to increase their skill sets.

And eventually if people would get over their fear of evil other countries (OMG China is going to own us, sounds very similar to how we talked about Japan in the 80's right?) we would see that those countries as they get stronger reinvest back into america,. We really do benefit all the way around with free trade, cheaper products (saves us americans far more than the money it takes to keep the company here) only being one of them.

Using your example, if you would pay double for an american printer instead of your HP should you? What is the point, you could instead buy the same printer for half price and ship a hundred dollar bill to the dude that lost his job and still have an extra hundred in your pocket.
