a list of a few things i have, can someone tell me if this is a good start for an organic grow supplementing with organic nutrients?

fox farm ocean forest
1oz botanicare zho rhizosphere root inoculant
2oz 100% earthworm castings
2.25oz bat guano high phos 0-13-0
1oz water soluble inoculant with beneficial bacteria
3 types of myco- age old grow, great white, humboldt nutrients

im sure this is enough for a plant or two right? i think ill go out and get some dolomite lime and a few other additives as well...any suggestions on must have items for this soil?

Nice mix, sounds like your trying to feed the roots not the plants as well.

I'm also trying to go the same way, Heres my first mix.

1 bag each, FF Ocean forest, Happy Frog and Light warrior
3 Cups limes
1 Cup peace of mind with mycorrhizae
a few handfuls of perlite.

I'm not sure if my mix has enough mycorrhizae to get the job done. Hopefully some old greybeard will stop by and tell us if were doing it right.

There is not much food in that mix. The happy frog and light warrior especially are soil-less mixes. You will have to add food, for sure, if you run this mix. Check out sub's super soil if you want to go the slow release organics route. You have picked a soil-less heavy feeding media mixture, which I like for me, but I'm a chef who loves to feed his girls.

Mycorrhizae only releases the food from meals/guanos, there has to be a food source for the myco to feed on. Myco will grow exponentially if the conditions allow (food/water/air balance).

i just went out and bought some age old earth worm castings 1-0-0 and some age old dry grow 8-4-1. how exactly should i go about doing this? should i use the dry grow to feed with later in veg? use it as a top dress or make a tea? i was thinking of using ewc to mix along with ffof.

ill save high phos bat guano for flower
when should i start adding liquid kelp extract, myco, and beneficial bacteria?

if someone could break down the order of operations....this would help me get goin.

hey matt maybe we will just talk in this thread huh? i appreciate you stoppin by all the threads and answering the best you can....thanks

Yeah, you are welcome. Some people talk shit but only know about how they do stuff, ie old school organic outdoor growers, ;) . And chime in just to hate or push their way of growing because they are "right" and everyone else is a fool for buying nutes or whatever the angle. In reality there are as many different ways to grow organically as there are growers.

The casting and age old dry grow is for mixing in from the start, being a veg slow release food. Mix it in, follow directions, pretty simple. Maybe try half strength this first time.

Myco madness, or whatever you are using for fungi/bacteria, can be used all along. The granular obviously has to be mixed in and the soluble watered in.

Liquid kelp is good in small amounts all along, great micronutes, but it is very strong so not too much until flowering, when the bat guano and liquid kelp will make up your P/K in the NPK.

Check my thread on vegan organics for more specific details about how/when/what to water. When I water: Fill water, let it bubble for 24 hrs, add microbes, add molasses, add soluble foods, add supplements, check pH, feed.

and how often are you feeding?
I feed every watering because I grow vegan organic (completely plant based, no poop) in a soil-less mix (mostly soil-less really).

My potting mix has enough food for the first week or two, but after that it is 'off to the races' with food. As much as she can take until flush time.

IMO I can feed every watering; because the plant based nutes don't build up if my root zone and microbes are healthy.

You should go back and forth between plain water/tea and food/tea.

What would i use to make the tea?

I know I'll get heckled for this, effing old schoolers, but I like the Bountea brew kit. It is super easy and time tested. The kit comes with enough ingredients for a good size run, including supplemental foods for both veg and flower. If you use the whole kit you won't have to feed supplemental food much or at all. The bountea food supplements can be used whenever you choose. The bags of Humisoil are what make the tea, and the root web is awesome. This kit sets you up with a nice pump, diffuser ring, and bucket combo that you can use down the road when you secure your own compost tea starter material.

Or if you are really lazy, they usually sell tea at the grow stores, but that is super lazy.

Mayan microzyme is another awesome microbe starter. There is a great thread about it here somewhere. You feed it with molasses for three days before adding to your res and watering in.

You should be able to find many tea recipes on here. It all depends on where you live and what you have access to.

The age old grow formula i just bought is 100 percent organic....8-4-1. it is derived from meat+bone meal, volcanic rock dust, composted poultry manure, blood meal, bone meal, and humic acid.

i plan on transplanting a well established plant in veg. going from a 5" pot to a 3 gallon.

directions say to mix with potting mixes at 1tbsp per gal. ffof is pretty nutrient rich as it is right? i was also planning on mixing in a few others. how does this sound?

3 gallons of ffof
1 gallon earth worm castings
2 tablespoons of ao grow formula (under recommended dose)
geohumus (as directed)
humboldt nutrients myco maximum granular (as directed)

will this mix be too hot?

are there any must have items in this mix..such as dolomite lime?

roughly how many weeks will this get me through without adding nutrients via top dressings, teas, or liquid organic nutrients.

do top dressings, teas and liquid organic nutrients all do the same thing?

to feed later on, should i use age old grow formula as a top dresser or to make tea?

This guy is a hater, but here is a simple DIY kit. I think he mentions that he spent 110+ bucks and a few hours, which is funny because the bountea brew kit comes with almost everything he has, plus a ton of food and starter for teas, and only costs 150, and takes NO TIME. He has a heater, which you don't really need, and you can brew on top of your fridge in cool weather.
