I was told you can take a cutting as long as the section is alive. the closer to harvest the higher chance of failure and if it does work, it can take a month to recover from flowering so long.

Little more time Dro, and bigbull is correct...it can be done just takes time, but some strains are worth it

Clone it before you flower this time lol
lol usually i would but it was a outdoor plant and it started flowering before i thought it would so took some cuts off it. it was barely into flower when i took the cuts and is still taking forever lol. ill put it outdoors in the sun when it warms up if it doesnt do anything by that time.

Thats crazy. I get clones that never root but still seem to live in the dome for weeks

Dro, what size container are they in? the trick is to hit them with a high veg solution and not to let them get root bound.

lol. i feel you. i got some clones i took around day 30 of 12/12 second to last round that didn't fully re-vegged until i place them into 2gals of medium. i notice one that i kept in a 1/4 of promix has yet to fully re-veg, but i know the reason why it has yet to fully re-veg.
some strain, well most due to the lack of true breeding, will auto flower on you or wan't re-veg right under certain circumstances and cramped roots would be one of them.
