Can we please have a LED sub-forum setup as we have for CLS's?

LED's are becoming more and more common within this and other MJ communities.
More often am I noticing users requesting LED only threads hoping to enhance their growing experience via these LED lights. I expect it will become a invaluable resource for all LED growing enthusiasts.

LEDs are so insignificant unless you pay a shit load of money for the lamps that have like 10 different color diodes in them. They do ok for veg, but dont have shit for a spread. Flowering is where you will really suffer unless you are using a good 600 watts at least of led in a small area, and if thats the case you might as well use an hps lamp. Sure you have to deal with more heat, but after that, the weight from the plants with be significantly more than it would have been with led. They have a use, for small areas, and vegging. But the price for the good LED fixtures needs to come down. Because you really do need a lot of LED to grow good plants. I guess that would depend on what your opinion of good plants are. You could easily put 1k watts in a small area with LED, it would just cost you a shit load of money, unless you know how to make your own. Then you could buy the individual diodes you need. But most people dont know how to do that so its not a consumer friendly answer to the problem. If I could buy a thousand watts of LED of around 3-400 bucks, then it might be worth it. But as it is now a lamp light that would run you a good $1500. Thats a whole grow system to me. Not worth it for a single lamp. I have used LEDs, and am still using them now. for Veg only. And I cant wait until I can get rid of them and get a new ballast and run a 400 watt mh in my room for veg.

Well Outdoorindica;

You had noted: You have not yet even completed an indoor grow, With or without LED's.
"This is going to be MY first attempt at growing inside. I have given assistance with a few but never have I been a part of one day in day out"

Then in the same thread you note that you have grown indoors
"Last indoor attempt of mine I switched to 12/12 too early at 3 weeks and everything took a while to even show signs of flower."

Which is it? This is your First attempt at an Indoor Grow, or not?

I've seen a few pics of your ladies outdoors which looked great!

Unfortunately your case against LED's is baseless as you've not proven anything aside from that you're able to hop aboard the band wagon with the other growers who Dropped coin on LED's without doing their research properly and now cry foul at the lightest mention of LEDs.

The reason I ask for this Sub Section is so that others do not experience the lack of judgment when it comes to this technology. It's absurd to contest any emerging technology which can potentially improve our hobby.

Should I say I did that, or mention other people that I have no right mentioning in such a forum? Yes, this is the first grow I have done day in day out. But every other one was on a weekly basis, usually visiting the room 2-3 times a week. But me being the one doing most of the work. So yeah, I do know what Im doing. Dont try to twist my own words around on me, you cant. Who the hell do you think you are? Please man, dont take what I have available on this forum as my total collection of experience. The only thing I have one here at this point is the 3 autoflowering plants I have grown. One might think someone who knows how to read, might be able to put two and two together and think, hmm "he said before he had only helped with indoor grows, so if he said on his last indoor grow, he must mean one he helped with." But no, your too ignorant to think that deeply. I dont "cry foul to the slightest mention of LEDs" I said, and will say again, they do good for vegging. Lack on the Flowering. Prove me wrong, since they are so good, and since you are so knowledgeable on the subject, you must be, your defending them like children, you should have no problem pulling in an ounce off of each of those autos you are growing. That 120 should be equivalent to a 600w right? So that shouldnt be an issue. Other people are doing that, if not double that when using hps on autoflowering plants. Good luck with that.

I really think you both are dumb for arguing. If someone else wants to grow a different way then you, let them do it. Just sit back and watch and either laugh your ass off when your right or just sign out when your wrong.
But really just drop it. He requested a sub forum not for someone to come in here and start comparing dicks.

I agree, you should not "contest any emerging technology which can potentially improve our hobby." But improves mean to make something better than what is already available. Which LED isnt better than anything available. Its more expensive and thats about it. The good units are outrageous in price for their performance. You have to at least admit that. Even if a 90w ufo was comparable to a 600w hps, which it isnt, it still wouldnt be worth the 4-5 hundred dollar price tag that accompanies a good one. By good I mean, good for LED tech. Something with multi spectrums, as in more than just 4. Thats how you know you got a piece of shit, if it only has 2-4 colors of LEDs. The good ones start at 7 colors and go up from there to like 13 or some shit. But also start at 4 hundred and go up into the thousands of dollars. I cant stress enough how much the price is not worth it. Just go buy a bunch of good cannabis for that price. You will save yourself a lot of wasted time and effort. Take a stroll over to club 600 and tell me how many LED grows you see pulling in stuff like that?

Just stating why LED doesnt have its own sub forum. At least why I would think it doesnt. Then he comes back all defensive and shit. Like dont touch me there in my LEDs. And then the asshole gets defensive on his grow thread after I wish him good luck on his grow, hoping his LED does good with his plants. Some people cant even take well wishes without it feeling like a hot poker in the ass. Tries to be all mister head game Im going to use your own words against you. Like I dont remember the shit that I type with my own damn fingers. Shit dont fly with me, so if he wants to be a dick, I can be a dick too.

I just wasted 150 dollars and 2 months on a glow panel 45 led grow when I could've gotten an hps or even big cfl's and been sitting high on the hog right now. It was and still is very dissapointing.

Forget it, I've asked a bunch of times and they just ignore my requests for an LED forum. I think they sell HPS lights or something in another business cause they are definitely "LED HATERS" for sure.
I look at it more as an opportunity to educate others on the folly of a 50 lamp Christmas light LED glow panel as opposed to some of the new generation High Output LED lighting system. How are we going to learn what works and what doesn’t without the participation of the experimenters in this community? Isn’t that part of the reason we’re all here to learn new chit?
We need a LED fourm.
Isn’t this site all about learning? Or is it just about ignoring? Just wondering, S

I 100% agree.. I thoroughly enjoy growing as much as anyone here; I am open to new technologies and methods that can potentially improve this experience.

The arrogance associated with this hobby is astounding though.. It seems the majority of ppl here hold themselves in the highest regard. https://www.rollitup.org/members/ax223-272785.html

Lol!....classic!

It can't hurt to throw up a sub forum, I wish there was one....I supposed to be buying 3 of those damn SG Stealh LEDs this week, but I can't find a damn soul that's gotta good review on them....so I'm gonna be the guinea pig on that one so keep a look out!

Oh yeah I'll bet there's a good reason there not just as the hydro shop won't sell them!

Just imagine how much of a hit the retailers are gonna take...

You won't have to ever buy bulbs again
You won't be buying all those hoods and ballasts anymore
Not at many super ventilation systems to extract heat

YEs its all a big conspiracy so the hydro stores can rip you off. NOOOO!! THEY do sell leds at both hydro stores i go to!!
you can buy a hps system with a cool tube and ducting for cheaper than a comparable led system. when i say comparable i mean same wattage not equivalent.

Im begging all you LED lovers to post me some PROOF. Dont tell me. SHOW ME!!!
Show me some LED grows with a 90w led that compares to a 600w HPS. (that is the retailers claim)

OR even show me a 600w led thats comparable to a 600w HPS.

And there ARE heat issues when using 600w of anything lol

LEDs do work well for vegging and seedlings. but this is limited because leds lack deep light penetration.
The ultimate vegging light is the hortilux blue MH or CMH.
However the second best setup would be a mix of LED's and Fluorescents. I imagine a led panel with fluorescents on the side would work very well.

Well LEDs are advancing much the way the computer started or LCD TV's. Big bucks and are they worth it. The new wave of Leds third generation are showing some promiss. They are using 5 watt leds now in the good ones and blending the colours to work better. I think I will keep my money for another 8 to 12 months so see how it shakes out.

Peace

Remember the old grow tubes, than T12 and now T5 and soon T1. Took about 5 years to get there.
