Im not to sure honestly i think i have read about people storing their bountiful harvest in mason jars in their basement
only to discover a few months later that it has been ruined by mold buttttttt...
i think that this was because it was not dried thoroughly?
im not to sure but i have sat on a Ziploc bag full for months and it was fine maybe a little dry but still okay

Two weekends ago I smoked some outdoor that was harvested in April 2007 here in NZ it had been dried properly and and stored in air tight containers... You could take the biggest toke of your life and still not cough, it was the smoothest smoke I have ever tried!! Save it up bro

I heard the best way to store long term is:

Vacuum sealed mylar bags, but throw a chip of dry ice in there before sealing it.
The dry ice melts and evaporates to become CO2, which means the herb wont oxidize.

Then store it in a cool, dry, dark place, with little temperature variation.

From what i hear, this makes herb last years.

If you go through a proper dry and make sure your buds are stored in an air tight container in a consistantly cool, dark place you should be able to store it for a long time. A vaccum sealed jar would be most ideal for long term storage.

Dry ice is easy to find. I havent done personally, (my weed usually turns into vapor or smoke pretty quickly, no need to store it long term) but i read about it in Cannabis Culture magazine, which is a source i trust. The guy who wrote the article had tried several ways, and he said this worked best for a several year storage. For months, i'd just do mason jars.

weed can expire, but the conditions on which it was stored directly impact the "self life"

keep it too wet to long "little moldy taste"-- let it get too dry before storing "dusty dope". experiance is your only hope.

I get it just about dry and vaccum seal my bags, then keep the bags cool or frozen. that is my method

I have smoked old weed and it tasted like the brick weed I used to get. It was purples and other great strains, stored, dry and vacuum-sealed from 2006 to 2009. Its better to sell, smoke and get properly cured stuff when you want to blaze it. I do like the dry ice idea and will be trying that soon!!

as too we are talking on the toppic of storage, you cannot get the pot to last any longer than vaccum seal and freeze...we do not want to confuse others, for theose around here get "easily confused".
