I have about 150 grams Im making butter out of. There are some small and big stems mixed in, will that make it gross? I'm preparing it the correct way so no plant material will end up in the butter

Yeah I ended up taking the bigger ones out. Had like a quarter oz or so of stems, replaced them with bud.
About 5 oz of bud and trim with 3 lbs of butter.
So far about 5 hours in the crockpot. Everything I've read says atleast 8 hours so I suppose that's what I'm going for.
Just within the last hour the matter stopped trying to float towards the top and is now sinking.

Btw I have another question. How often should i be stirring this and how much of a simmer do I want?
I've been stirring about every 15 mins and every time I'm going to stir the edges are simmering fairly rapidly, no large boils but small bubbles along the edges, is that okay?

I decarb my material for an hour at 240f, and then I make my butter with it. I only simmer it long enough to dissolve the trichomes. I give it about an hour. Yours should be ready I would think! I also use one oz/one pound butter. Yours should be pretty strong if your material was good.

Yeah I decarbed first for one hour at 220, most of the material was pretty dry. About 2oz(the bud part) was mostly lemon kush and silver platinum, with a few grams of grape kush, something about cbd(the name pertaining to high cbd) and fire deisel.
About an ounce and a half of some freak plant that I had last grow that's just been sitting in jars, stretched 2 to 3 times more than the others and buds were much thicker, way more plentiful and VERY low leaf to bud ratio but was still nothing but white hairs at 11 weeks which is when I chopped it, was not wanting to take it 16 to 18 weeks. It hadn't even started to get dense yet. Real strange pheno. I got about 15 seeds from it though from a seperate plant that hermied. Maybe try a pheno hunt with them at sometime for something of the same structure but normal finish time, and hope that they don't all hermie my since they could be prone to it.
The rest, like an ounce and a half, is good sugar leaf. Planning to make around 140 cookies. So about 1 gram per edible

I grew some SSH last year and I finally gave up and chopped them at 12 weeks. If what I got is the standard, they can keep it. I like strains that run 10 weeks or less, unless I'm running outdoor. I grew a Mama Jamaican outdoors a couple of years ago that had huge buds. smoked nice, but a chore to trim. I used 90% of it to make a ton of edibles. With what you're using, you should have plenty of potency.

Yeah I strained it at about 7 hours. Real green in color. I just wanted to make sure I put in more than enough because I smoked one bowl for the first time of that sativa the other day and it got me high almost asap but was racy and VERY short lived. I smoke a lot so maybe it's my tolerance but about 15 mins of happiness and that was about it.
I figured it would add a nice twist to the edible and threw in a bit extra to make sure it'd be enough

As far as ive been told and just what ive been told so not fact... but stems and fan leaves and the trim leaves have much less thc than the bud but it is supposidly more potent. I could be wrong on this if so please correct me i like knowledge. And for grinding up stems dont have enough thc on them so your better off not grinding up stems as u put more chlorifil in it from the plant but bud and leaves usually dont matter just on ur preff.

You could add stems, would take alot to actually increase potency though..

While it does depend on the strain/health/environment ect, test have been done to show that the fibers within the stalk actually do contain trace amounts of THC.

I made a small blast with some stems and trimmings just the other week and i honestly had the same high as if i had blasted bud i just got much less of the stems and leaves then i would have with bud i get usually around 4 to 5 per blast, per one ounce of bud but only about 1.5 to 2.5 per ounce of stem and trim
