Can you recommend an auto strain that copes well in low temperatures?

My grow space (indoor) will probably be between 5 - 15 degrees C (approx 40 - 60F) this winter, and may get down close to freezing at times, so im planning to wind down my grow till spring. however, i heard about autos growing outdoor in Northern Finland, where they have long sunny days, but low temps - which i can reproduce in my growroom!

As the autoflowering strain originates from colder climates, are there any autos bred, or found to be resistant to a bit of cold?

Heating an indoor grow area is rarely a problem; just make sure its enclosed, and if necessary add more lights. Since even the most efficient lights still put out over 90% of energy input as heat, you should have no problem keeping any indoor grow area warm.

While heating mats or other heat sources could work, I don't see much point in using them, since lights are nearly as efficient in creating heat, plus they have the added benefit of adding light! If the floor is cold, though, you will want to make sure there is insulation between the bottom of the pot and floor so the roots aren't cold.

Outdoors, you'll have issues. Even if ruderalis and other cannabis strains can grow outdoors in relatively cold temps, they won't get very big nor yield very much.

In flower the lights are only on half the time.
If it gets too cold the plants will be stunted and growth will be slowed. I learned this the hard way. If I could, I would keep my temps at 75 at all times.

Seedling mats work great. In the winter I even use them when the lights are on. They only use 17 watts and keep the roots warm.
I had insulation between my plants and the floor. That didn't help when my night time temps hit the high 50s.

If you are hitting 40, you should add a heater and a thermostat.
