hi, ive decided to move to a hydro system, well ive a plan for a diy ebb n flow type system, been in dirt for a while and feel like trying something else, ive looked at a few systems and ive decided to go with a seperate 6 pot with diy controler and lg res, for my space i think it would be best, my question is after all the reading ive done seems to say that it floods from the bottom, and as a lot of people seem to feel that drip feeding from top adds more oxygen is it possible to flood from the top like a drip feeder just with more flow, proberly be using clay pebbles (if that makes any difference) has anyone got any views or advice, ie does it make it too complicated, regarding return orforce of flow etc etc, id very much apreciate any tips or advice,
thanks

Why is everyone using buckets instead of ebb and flow trays? I can setup a 6 plant ebb and flow tray in an hour for like $200 - tray, pumps, hose, BH valve, XPS board, air pump, res, stand, timer, net pots, everything. I get that buckets are cheap, but then you have to plumb them all separate, buy the tops, buy a big res... I just don't get it =/

yeah see what your saying but for my area 4ft wide x 12ftx10ft i can have res etc through wall (in another room) allowing me to be able to tend to plants , i had to give my grow room up and this is all i could come up with,
