Can you use baking soda with water to buffer acidic soil?? REP4RESPONSE

i cant afford too get any ph up at the moment and some of my plants are rather acidic, just wondering if its safe too use baking soda as a buffer with soil.

I've been told yes but I have no evidence to back this up

I use it all the time with no problems.

i also use BS when i dont have any ph up, its fine just dont add to much to fast you will stress your plants, bs is really strong
