I was just wondering when i should have my clones ready for, in ontario. What time do you put your babies out? I was thinking april 18th or later

All depends on what part of Ontario you're in.

after the last frost in your area. i live around southern ontario and never put them out before june 1st.

i have a bag seed growing and it vegged for qwuite a while and has started to flower but to lack of light (growing in window) it is growing very slowly which is actualyl want, i was wondering can i still take clones of for this coming season in may-june,

This is an El Nino year. In Toronto when we get El Nino we usually get an early spring followed by a cool wet summer and a late fall. I've had roses blooming in my garden at Christmas with El Nino.

You take a chance putting plants out on April 18th but with El Nino it might be okay. I've seen many years when there was no frost after the middle of April but there is always a chance. I've seen heavy snow on May 5th. Look on the callendar for a full moon. Often times a frost accompanies a full moon. May 13th is a full moon in 2010. There is a chance of a frost on this date. If your plants are in pots you can bring them to shelter or if they are in the ground you will have to cover them.

I love El Nino. Just look at our weather this week--+9c and rain in the middle of winter.

I lived on a farm until I went to university now I am 24 and now since my parents have passed I have taken over the farm and we have always started to plant on April 20th, in 20 years we have never had a frost after this date, my farm is located n Amaranth (Orangeville)

Unfortunately, my area of choice is more North then he is.. I always wait till like May 24 week-end but last year we had allot of cold around that time in the beginning... I Hope this year it doesn't rain during the whole month of July like last year did.. But props to Jerik as well =D

thanks for the replies, so im not gonna go with april 18th, ill try like mid may. Depending on snow, but were not really gettin alot this year so looks good. First I heard of this El Nino .. ive seen a strain called el nino i may look into that

El Nino is a warm ocean current that rises up the west coast, sometimes as high as Vancouver. I changes the jet stream which is where the hot air meets the cold air. The jet stream frequently moves above the great lakes pumping warm air into southern Ontario. El Nino comes as a cycle about every 4 years. I like it because there's lots of rain and a long season. I never have to worry about watering, just mold.

if u put ur babies out that early and are still a little afraid of frost u can always build one of these lil coldshelters/mini greenhouse u can call it what u want. it protects ur babies from teh frost and cold so instead getting them out april 18th u might even be able to push it to like 1st week april depending on weather if ur the only factor of killing ur plants is if the temperature get too cold inside the greenhouse for ur plants

tiredofschwag you wouldnt happen to know the last year we had an el nino year? just curious, extra warm weather would be appreciated but i always have problems with mold when we have a rainy september. in my expierience most plants advertised as mold resistant are the extra earlies and not the tightest nugs. but thats just the way it is most of the time. anyway i was just curious i can remember the good and bad years and do take notes was wondering if i had a good year on the last el nino. sorry to ramble peace

Sodalite to avoid mold in September check out Iranian Short Season by Dr Greenthumb - finishes outdoors in August, in Ontario. It's a short flowering pheno of Endless Sky, very potent. ISS gives up 25% of ES' yield for the early finish but ES gives 500 gram per square meter so ISS isn't too bad. Bud out of the field before the cops and thieves hit the woods.

thanks hobbes i was actualy checking that out. i was looking at dr greenthumbs site since they seem to have outdoor varieties for my area. i think the companys address is not to far away from me. have you tried it or had any expierience growing anything from the company? they are pricey, thats not an issue i was just thinking if they cost top dolar maybe they are good. years ago i used to grow some mighty mite crosses back when mark emery was the only company i could find to order from. some of those were decent and early ones were done by spt 1st,but i dont see many around anymore. anything i can pull in by mid sept is good but the last 3 years we have had good weather right into first week of october. so you never know. this year im definitly going to try one of the new early flowering strains ive been seeing and the iss looks the best. im rambling again peace dude

I've had his Big Laughing in my garden for two years, very nice strain. Endless Sky and Serious AK47 are my next two strains to buy. Dr Greenthumb has mailed me his new strain, "The Dope", to run a test grow. I know nothing about it, I'm waiting for the seeds before I ask the particulars. I'm going to run a thread on it once I get it to flower.

Hey buddy, down in the niagara region we always use may 24 weekend like a poster above stated. Usually a very safe time give or take a few days you know, im going to start mine around 420 indoors and let them veg out for a bit then they are going outside!

Last year I did some ROMULAN x MIGHTY MIGHT from

"TRICHOME COLLECTIVE – new hybrids of hard to find strains"

And wow dude it was quite impressive and a early finnish.. If you take a look at my old posts you'll see them in flower in mid August the Yield prob wasnt as much as I wanted it to be but I had no issues what so ever with mold as well the buzz was amazing!! I've been smoking for a long time now so when it comes to buzzes I know what I'm talking about..

I think this year I might go with the same strain =D as I would definitely recommend this strain for the E.Ont. area..
