Cancer causing sealant on Watering Can safe?

I made a watering can, a milk jug with tubing glued to it, based roughly on this guide.

I don't have a hot glue gun, so at first I tried using super glue. Failure.

I went back to the store and a guy recommended I used a water proof sealant with latex and silicone.

So I found this stuff: DAP ACRYLIC LATEX CAULK PLUS SILICONE

It worked fine, but I noticed a warning label on it that says:

WARNING! CONTAINS PHTHALATE ESTERS, ETHYLENE GLYCOL, CRYSTALLINE SILICA, FORMALDEHYDE, ETHYL ACRYLATE, ACETALDEHYDE, ACRYLAMIDE & ACRYLONITRILE
Then some stuff about contact with it.

Then:

"WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm."
Then is says not to inhale it.

My question is: Can this nasty stuff find its way from the watering can, to the soil, to the plant, to my lungs? Am I taking a serious risk? :eyesmoke:

GrowTech

stays relevant.
Everything here in California causes cancer, even chemo. Get used to it

Honestly... I wouldn't use that shit... There are perfectly good products to water with that wont end up requiring you get a chemo drip every 2 weeks.

I bought a small watering can for a quid:lol:
I guess I should have pointed out this is a homemade watering wand type thing, to water hard to reach plants. The point here is I'm trying to get a water tight seal between the tube and the can.

I got some fish tank silicone and will give it a try soon...It was barely worth it, having to enter that chamber of horrors pet shot, a real Auschwitz for animals.

I may post an update on that guide when I finally get this thing perfected.

If you're worried about getting cancer dont use it.....that simple
I try to make decisions by seeking out useful information.

I was hoping some stoner chemist would point out that it's impossible for this stuff to end up in my lungs.

I'm not making a water wand for the fun of it, I need one to reach my plants, especially since my current setup is very restrictive to access--something I will improve in the future.

Your comment seems to ignore my need to save money, effort and water my plants without water streaming onto my carpet and power cords.

Your attitude may come in handy when making decisions about things like abortion and vegetarianism. Thanks for responding though.

Fuck you dude. If it says something in it probably causes cancer so it probably fucking does.....Don't use the shit.
Sounds like you gotyour fish tank silicone.....and since fish don't get cancer chances are you wont from watering your plants with it.

Don't tell me when my attitude will and will not come in handy.

I was just trying to point out that I don't care if it causes cancer if there's no way it's going to cause cancer.

I also don't want to buy something I don't have to, I'm poor. If I'm worried my car is going to break down, I don't just go out and buy a new one.

I like that I get told how not to get cancer and fuck you at the same time. This attitude may come in handy if I ever become Triumph: The insult physician.

well that what happens when I tell you how simple it is to decide whether or not to use something and you come back with a smart ass comment about what I said and my overall attitude

Yep, I'm trying to cut down on smartassism but I'm a damn comedian...professional smart ass.

Also, I should say I mean your attitude as in your approach to the problem, which is different than mine.

Ok gotcha.
Yeah wands are very useful its easier to make them out of a pressurised water sprayer and some syphon tubingbongsmilie
