Cannabis Extraction Technician

Anyone know where you can get certified to become one? I am really interested in this field. If anyone knows of any places that certifies you it would be greatly appreciated.

I have found places that offer 2 day seminars that do certify you. But I would much rather go somewhere, where the course(s) are at least a few weeks long. I'm sure Oaksterdam is not the only place that offers this.

You are going about this all wrong..Start the company that certifies the technicians and pay the right people off so that your certification is the one that holds the weight, that sir is where the money is.

I can vouch for that in my career field.

I'm a Yoga instructor, and it pays beans. After a year of that, I got on a career path where I now certify Yoga instructors, and that pays a LOT more. And it's my own business, not working for someone else.

I noticed a few extract artists become such, through having already worked with and at a medical marijuana facility

Sure you can learn shit from the books but it's better to gain first hand experience...

it may take a couple of tries but you'll succeed and impress.

Well I looked around and it seems the 2 day seminar would be my best option. At least this way I'll be familiar on how to operate a closed loop system and what not. Also pretty reasonable. 300-400 with a certificate. And yes it is a hands on course.

Well I came back from CO last Friday. Took a 18 hr, 2 day class on the extraction of cannabis. Anyone looking to get into the extraction side of the industry should consider taking this class. I learned so much about that side of the industry! While some have said you can get this info on youtube which is true. You don't have the interaction with your peers like you do at the class (or hands on for that matter). I mean there were people literately from all over the world. Well worth the 265 I paid for the class.

They had only one type of extractor in their lab. It's a closed loop Alcohol extractor. Man this is the machine to buy if you plan on going commercial. It can turn 150-200 lbs of plant material into sellable oil in a day. It also winterize the product as well.

Heres him explaining how it works

There's no such thing as a certified extract artist in the cannabis industry. Those are just scams just like the 99 plant license in California. You just have to learn how to make it. Spend years perfecting it. Get it tested and shop it around to dispensaries. Eventually make a name for yourself. Then enter cups , win and name your price.

The only thing that can help scholar wise is at the very least a bachelor's degree in chemistry. A PhD would be better

Everything is going solventless so all those systems will be obsolete eventually.

That's like the emu farming boom. The money was in breeders. No one made money actually raising emus.

i have looked all over the place about this to get myself set up for looking for work

the trouble is the paper those certs are written means nothing .......there is no real over site in this field so the courses might help u but until a agreed upon standard is made in this field no ones course really means anything .....so not worth the investment unless u are looking for the learning for self benefit

tho all the work i did do i did find ethics to be a big part (some states require a course in this before allowed to work in a shop)
