Cannatrol vs. Freeze Dryer

So far it looks like the Cannatrol works as intended with good results. Mr Grow It did a review of it on his youtube channel and likes the results as well, but stated that company that makes it wouldn't provide a discount code. I think that if they want to get in good with the cannabis community they should offer some kind of discount, $1600 is too rich for my blood.

They are literally 4-5 weeks out because they are so backed up with orders. Why would they need to do discount codes or sales? So they can be 8-10 weeks behind?

I got to hang out with David this last weekend at Necann Chicago. Judging from the activity and response around their booth, they're in pretty good with the cannabis community.

You can catch a free shipping deal around Black Friday or 4/20. That knocked off nearly $150 for me.
will be watching for that deal around christmas or 4/20 next year! good looking out.

They seems to always be 4-5 weeks out. Probably because they are busy ordering, receiving and then modding a stock fridge. regardless I think they are cool and purchased a frost free wine fridge try drying and also use as a beverage cooler.

They are now, lol. I’ve been “window shopping “ them quite awhile, used to be 2 weeks.

A refrigerator has a compressor. They order an insulated shell with a glass door. The owner was just recently on a podcast here (Crafting Cannabis Ep. 43) discussing, among many things, the ill informed comparison to a wine cooler... If anybody was curious about that.
Do you work for cannatrol? Or do you feel a need to combat buyers remorse?

I want an hour of my life back from that podcast.

The owner throws so many red herrings out about his product, like this;

“Wine fridges have compressors so it’s different.”

The dude worked in HVAC for decades. He knows what he said is wrong and misleading. Yeah SOME wine fridges have compressors. A good portion don’t have compressors. He uses his knowledge of the industry to confuse stoners into thinking it’s unique and controlling these foreign confusing concepts like dew point and vapor pressure. All of those concepts are just formulas based off of temperature and RH.

he admits it’s just a modified fridge he buys directly from the manufacturer. He adds sensors and controllers and logos. It looks nice, sure.

He tried to market his product in the cheese industry and the meat industry…and now they moved onto the cannabis industry because we are the only fools who would spend so much money on 8oz of dried flower.

I still am waiting on someone to explain to me how this isn’t a thermoelectric wine fridge with a very fancy customer controller. Where’s the magic that justifies $1600? Is the magic in the custom weed leaf sketched glass? Please help me, the ill informed, understand the complexities that I’m missing.

Anyone good at reading patents?

It looks like they most likely are using a heating element as opposed to a dehumidifer but the end results are the same, they both create heat.

now what is really interesting is the temperature parameters of phase 1 of the cannatrol drying process.

“the first temperature is between about 100 and about 150 degrees Fahrenheit. In further embodiments, the first temperature is between about 120 and about 145 degrees Fahrenheit”

So essentially the cannatrol is designed to kill your spores in your cannabis by heating up your cannabis to upwards of 150F for extended periods of time.

so my fridges don’t do that… not that I want this feature. For a company that preaches about preventing terpenes from volatilizing, they sure do encourage it by ramping the temperature to dangerous temperatures.

one could argue the diy fridge has louder terps and …more spores.

For the Cannatrol, is it possible to hang branches and dry trim after the 8 days? I assume so, just need to get a hanging rack of some kind. I'm not privy to wet trimming and laying buds on flat surfaces. Otherwise that seems like a deal honestly for anyone running less than 2 lbs per harvest and living in hot climates. Holding a whole room at 60/60 here for 2 weeks is expensive.
It is possible

Sorry for the bump, but I am wondering how it went?
I am looking to purchase one as well
.

The purchase and shipment went smooth, both Cool Cures are set up and on hold while they wait for the next harvest in 3-5 weeks.

I can't recommend one more - I've busted my ass on a grow, have good terpens throughout the grow, then end up smelling like hay after the dry. With the Cool Cure it's just dump the bud onto the trays and come back in 8 days when the cure is done, no smell until you break the buds up then WHOOSH!

Great little gizmos, you'll be happy to have one.

i have on and love it! I’m kinda forgetful/ and forgot to empty the water tray a couple times and wound with quite a mess. So, bought a washing machine catch tray and put the Cannatrol up on blocks inside it “just in case”. Saved my ass a couple times…
