Canopy has agreed to issue Bertrand $2.75 million in shares in four equal tranches, based on certain milestones. To fund the development of the joint venture, Canopy's Canopy Rivers subsidiary will also contribute $15 million in cash and Canopy has agreed to buy all of the cannabis produced during an initial term.

Huh?...ummm...don't they already own it?....so companies within companies investing in each other....hmmmm.....I don't get this shit.

Canopy is from the Bezos school of economics; Get financing from stock market investors, buy somebody, stock goes up, buy somebody else, etc.. rinse and repeat. If theres ever a problem, just lobby the government for help because you are now "too big to fail".
