How's it flying my fellow Cannabis Cultivators?!
Its been several years since I've had a grow journal which helps me stay focused and gain knowledge on ways to improve in my small garden!! A win win in my book. I formerly was on here as Trickyn9ne and was in the Fat Purple grow off in the Michigan Thread. One of my tester beans for Fat Marty was the one selected for the mother and is now the reason why that strain is available world wide. This was the last time I was on the web making posts and all that certainly wouldn't have been possible without my good friend Gladstoned. Shout out brother although I know you rarely check this site anymore....And to Fat Marty too!
My garden consists of 2 rooms and a 4x4 tent. My flowering room is a 5x20 with a height of 6.5 feet. In there I have 2 air cooled 1k single ended units and 2 air cooled 600w single ended units. The bulbs alternate in the room and are in a single row down the middle of the room. My tent houses a 400 watt CMH set up. My other room is my veg room/dwarf shrimp breeding room!! I used to operate a large aquaponic facility and was in a car accident that no longer left me able to enjoy my love for aquaculture and gardening. So I started breeding dwarf shrimp in my garden. Seems to work out nicely and go hand in hand although its not an aquaponic set up...just gets me my fix!
I've tried every style of growing and always find myself needing to get my fingers in some living soil. Not to mention all my soil girls have so many better terpenes and flavors that I much prefer to indulge in that medicine. For awhile I loved the simplicity of running dwc and set up a 10 bucket recirculating system. That lasted about 8 months when I developed root rot that spread. I still like to play with hydro so I keep 2 5gallon DWC buckets going in for flowering in the 4x4 tent.
For the past year I've been growing organic and following the guys at the forefront of the organic section such as Greasemonkey, Hyroot, The guys at Jah Earth, Rasta Roy (We in the same state brother)!! Thanks guys for all the free knowledge and whats to come. I also follow a lot of Elaine Ingham and guys like HerbinFarmer, Brownguy420, and Alaskan Natural Canna on Youtube. Much appreciation to all those I mentioned and those that I have forgot putting out true organic knowledge for free.
I've been mixing my own soil with organic amendments such as Crab Meal, Kelp Meal, Bio-Live, Gypsum, D.E., Purple Cow Compost, Rabbit turds, and aged Horse manure. And waterings of fresh aloe, compost teas, and sst teas (popcorn and malted barley). And my newest addition to the mix based of Dons advice is bsf insect frass which is currently on the way. On my second run with the same soil and some have done great while others have struggled. Most of the struggling happening over the winter here where I don't have full control of humidity and watering. I've been potting clones in 1gallon, then up potting to 5 gallon fabrics and then into 10 gallon plastic for flowering. I've now upped that to 20 gallon containers. 2 of which I made into 20 gallon sips which I plan to do no till and only top dress amendments and worms.
I super stoked for the near future and hope to have consistent positive grows with my new style of full organics. Please feel free to comment and post advice or ask any questions that you have...
Stay tuned as Ill be continuing to update my garden.....
New to me 20 gallon living soil planters and 20 gallon sips no till!!!! Cant wait to post results!!
